I had bright red bleeding continuously from weeks 7-10. My OB suspected it was an sch but he couldn't see it on the ultrasound. When the bleeding and cramping started I was sure it was a miscarriage or ectopic. My OB got me in that day and found the heartbeat, and put me on modified bedrest and pelvic rest. Dd is now 9mo old.

I had one and had light bleeding for my whole first tri. My Dr put me on pelvic rest for the first tri but she never seemed really concerned. I actually had to remind them to check when I had a second tri u/s. It had resolved itself by 14 weeks or so.

I had one with DS2 pregnancy that was discovered @11 weeks after a bleed. I bled again @15 weeks (Passed a huge clot that I swore was the placenta), and I was diagnosed with placenta previa. My baby is 7 months old today. Bleeding during pregnancy is so scary! Hang in there!

I had one, I was at work around 7w and felt like I was getting my period - cramping and bleeding. I just knew I was miscarrying. Went to RE, it was a SCH. He put me on 2 days of bedrest and after that, "take it easy" (no exercise, etc) and they monitored it. They said it does increase risks, but nothing you can really do but watch it. Mine slowly decreased in size and was gone by 10 weeks. Baby was fine.

I had a SCH discovered, which resolved around 20 weeks. Bleeding and spotting, but no clots on and off. My doctor isn't a fan of bed rest for SCH, but did put restrictions around no sex, no tampon use for the bleeding, and to take it "easy".

Hi, I had a moderate SCH this pregnancy diagnosed about 6 weeks. I had some bright red bleeding, but no clots and it only lasted about two weeks. Also, I never had more than one pads worth of bleeding throughout the whole day. The SCH completely resolved by our anatomy scan a few weeks ago and everything is normal and healthy about this pregnancy.
It is scary, but just relax and follow doctor's orders. One thing that kept me calm is that my nurse told me that if I have any questions to call and ask. It doesn't bother them, even if you think it does! That helped calm me down a bit.

I had a small SCH between 5-6 weeks. I started spotting, brown then a little red blood. The next day I went in for an ultrasound and baby measured exactly 6 weeks with a heartbeat. I went in for a follow up ultrasound 8 days later and baby was measuring right on track and the tech said the bleed had mostly resolved itself at that point (I hadn't had any bleeding since the first ultrasound). I'm 24 weeks now with no other bleeding or issues.

Hope you have the same outcome! I'll be thinking of you.

One of my best friends had one with her pregnancy with her daughter. I believe she had bleeding on and off in the first trimester- which was terrifying- but her baby girl turned one in the fall and she had a typical labor.

I did not have bleeding but was diagnosed with a SCH at my first ultrasound at 5w5d. My dr said the same thing, to watch for bleeding and that it does increase miscarriage risk but many times resolves on its own. Mine had apparently disappeared by my 7w ultrasound. I am almost 9 weeks now and so far everything has seemed fine.

Fingers crossed for you that everything works out!

I'm so sorry, I had the same thing and its very scary.

1. Yes, multiple times of bleeding. Not always clots but red. It resolved around 14-16 weeks I believe. It wasn't constant just certain days.

2. I was put on pelvic rest as well as exercise restrictions. My OB advised to even avoid yoga and walking for exercise until after the first tri. Obviously pelvic rest as well with no sex. I agree because the bleeding did seem to occur most often when I would over do it.

3. In the end, I didn't have any issues with the placenta and we had to be induced.

Just came in for support.

I had a SCH with my last pregnancy. While I didn't bleed, it was definitely scary. It was small-mid size, and completely resolved itself by my anatomy scan. I now have a healthy and happy 18 month old.

I did have a friend who had a major bleed in her first trimester from an SCH. She only bled once, and her LO is 2 and healthy as well.

It's me again, the newly pregnant lady with about a zillion questions. I was recently diagnosed with a moderate sized SCH. I measured around 5 weeks, so obviously we couldn't see much on the ultrasound and there's many reasons at this point why the pregnancy may not be viable. The doctor told me that it does increase risk of miscarriage but in many, many cases women with SCH go on to have healthy pregnancies. I know some people with SCH get put on bed rest, but the doctor said exercise is fine and won't affect it - that restrictions won't help, beyond no sex.

I'm curious what other's experiences have been - whether others experienced multiple instances of red bleeding, whether there were clots, and whether the bleeding was something that continued for weeks/months or resolved relatively quickly. So far I just had one evening of red bleeding followed by several days of brown spotting, and while of course every pregnancy is different, I don't know if I should expect a repeat of the heavier red bleeding.
