I think yesterday and today my bleeding has gotten lighter, so I'm hoping that means the SCH is at least not getting any larger. It grew, never shrank. I went into early labor at 23 weeks and my son died in childbirth. I think a lot of it has to do with the size of the SCH, mine was almost as big as my baby was. I was monitored at my OB and at high risk doctor weekly, and they thought that it wouldn't cause any problems. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant and they found out I have antiphospholipid syndrome, which is why I had such a big SCH. Me and my three best friends all had SCHs. Mine resolved around 12 weeks, and I delivered at 37 weeks. My three friends all bled throughout the second trimester. It does make me feel better that the baby's heartbeat sounded good at today's appointment. I like that I can feel her move now too- it gives me some reassurance between appointments. </p> <p>Unfortunately, my OB saying she didn't need to see me for awhile actually made me more worried since she said the reason was because there was nothing that she can do for it at this point (unless the bleeding/cramping gets worse- then she said to come in). She said all I could do for now was take it easy and just wait to see what happens. However, my OB doesn't perform the detailed ultrasounds in her office, which would be needed to monitor its size, so I'm hoping that the ultrasound office will agree to monitor it somewhat frequently when I seem them next Monday (there is a different doctor at the ultrasound office). I had weekly (or maybe every two week?) ultrasounds during the time I was having the bleeding. Oddly, they didn't see the clot on the ultrasounds anymore, but since I was still bleeding on and off they continued checking on the baby. The ultrasounds helped me relax and worry less, so it may be something to ask for even if they don't bring it up. She also referred me to a high risk doctor to be evaluated before she let me return to work, just to be cautious. Between them and what I've found by googling this issue so far, I'm feeling better about it (amazingly, googling a health issue actually helped for once, instead of making me more worried). It's good to hear that all of you either had a healthy baby or, if you haven't had your baby yet, that it hasn't caused any major issues and your doctors aren't too concerned at this point.</p> <p>@Mrs. Lion: I started bleeding at 15.5 weeks, but they didn't find the source of the bleed until my anatomy scan on Monday (a little over 18 weeks). I do go back again next Monday for another ultrasound though so I'm going to make sure they measure it and ask them how it compares to last week (the ultrasound is actually to monitor my cervix which is on the short side and not the bleed, as far as I know). I'm hoping that they continue to monitor it with additional ultrasounds after that if it isn't resolved yet- I'm going to have to ask them on Monday about that. (The ultrasounds are at a different office than my regular OB. My OB said that she doesn't need to see me for 4 more weeks unless the bleeding gets worse.)</p> <p>Also, I want to find out from the doctor at the ultrasound office next Monday if there is a reason my OB was so concerned about this today (maybe its location or size?) or if she was just being overly cautious and warning me of all of the potential scenarios. It did resolve itself, but I was on and off bed rest during that time because the bleeding would come and go. (bleeding meant bedrest because I was a teacher and on my feet all day). My doctor was not very concerned because the clot was small, but there is a chance that the bleeding is what caused my son to be born early at 35 weeks...something about the blood being an irritant to the uterus? I am not exactly sure how it could have had an impact so much later, but I never really asked either. </p> <p>Praying everything will be okay and that it resolves soon! Are they checking the size of the clot with ultrasounds? I'm currently 27 and it's caused no issues that I'm aware of. My scan was at the MFM office because of my history, and I was told not to worry, and that it was almost definitely no big deal and would probably resolve itself. The MFM's have always been very straight with us when things looked bad, so I trust them that it's not a big deal. My doula (who is a nurse) also said that she sees the marks of them a lot when she takes the placentas to be encapsulated, from moms who had no idea they had them. So they're not super uncommon, and can be totally fine. </p> <p>I haven't had any bleeding, but they said that was most likely because of the way it's positioned. Any blood is getting trapped and my making its way out.</p> <p>I have an ultrasound to check on it and baby's growth on Monday, so if I learn anything more (I'm going to ask more questions this time), I'll let you know! They aren't 100% sure why I bled the first time (my doctor says probably an SCH from lifting something), but I bled the first time (mainly just heavy spotting) at 27 weeks (it resolved in 3 days) and then I hemorrhaged at 34 weeks. I was hospitalized for both. Bleeding sucks. I'm just about 19 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding daily for 3 weeks. My OB was concerned due to the length of time I've been bleeding and because I'm getting farther along in my pregnancy and it hasn't resolved yet (she said bleeding after 20 weeks is more worrisome than bleeding before 20 weeks). She also made me worried by explaining the full range of scenarios that could occur- from miscarriage, to early delivery (even mentioning that babies are viable at 24 weeks but 28 weeks is better), to it resolving itself or not causing any more issues and delivering full term. So now I'm worried, but I don't know how worried I should be. A lot of the posts I'm finding online are about SCH's that resolve prior to 20 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with SCH's and bleeding after 20 weeks? </p>
