@mrsleanos2014: hey girl, no I haven't gotten pregnant yet. I ended up at an RE and have done clomid plus trigger plus iui. The first one failed and I'll have my second on Monday. Sorry I cant give you better news but everyone is different! I hope just taking clomid works out for you!

@BrianaK: My doc just put me on 50mg of Clomid because my stats were 11.83 7 DPO last cycle. He states, "weak ovulation." I'm age 31. I am not being monitored either, just taking the Clomid. What was your experience like? Did you get pregnant?

@Emilia80: our infertility was unexplained. It took us around 20 cycles to get pregnant. My hsg showed clear tubes and DH's SA came back normal. I had a short LP and the doctor thought I wasn't ovulating strong enough. So she prescribed clomid. I took the medication in the morning with my breakfast. I have read that some women who experienced negative symptoms would take it at night before bed so they could sleep through the symptoms. I think it varies so you just have to figure out what works for you!

@Bea: omg congratulations on ur bfp. Wishing u a happy and healthy 9 months. This is exciting news. If u don't mind me asking why were u on clomid..?? Any infertility issues?

And I'm so glad to hear that u bc everyday leading up to o day bc I will be on holidays and well u know when ur on holidays naturally it's going to happen everyday and actually my partner loves it twice a day lol sorry tmi hahhaa so most likely we will bd more than once a day and I was getting worried bc everything I've read says don't bd everyday only eod. So this has been on my mind a lot but u know what, if it's meant to be it will. So everyday it is.

Glad to hear u didn't have any side affects, is there a better time to take it? Like morning over night? When did u take yours? Did u take it same time everyday?

And so glad o day is still around cd14 so not much will change for me but I will use opk just in case. I gotta pack them in my suitcase lol

@Emilia80: also, my typical cycles were about 23 days with ovulation almost always occurring on day 14. Both cycles on clomid I ovulated at the same time--day 14. It did lengthen my cycle the first round but ovulation timing remained the same. :) just my experience!

We normally BD EOD until a few days before O and switch to every day. Our successful cycle, we BD starting on day 6 EOD. However, I think we BD twice the day I ovulated. It wasn't planned that way I was just randomly attacked by DH hahaha

@Emilia80: I got pregnant on my second cycle of clomid. Had our first ultrasound today and am measuring right on track 8 weeks 3 days.

I took clomid days 3-7 and didn't really notice many side effects. I would get hot flashes at night so I wasn't sleeping well. The cycle I got pregnant I had some intense pain and cramping around ovulation.

Good luck! :goodluck:

Got my clomid. So excited. really hope it works. Gyno said he usually monitors but bc I'm going on holidays during that time he was willing to allow me to go un monitored this cycle and if it didn't work then he would monitor the next 2!!!
My understanding is clomid makes u ovulate earlier, I o on cd14 always bang on that day, so how much earlier would I o when on clomid?? Any experiences with u girls? Gyno advised to bd from cd12! I feel like that might be too late.

Did u have any side affects? I'm going away and last thing I need on my holidays is bad side affects which will kill my holiday. Did clomid work for u?

@Emilia80: Are you going to an RE or an OB? I don't think OBGYNs typically do monitoring, but RE's usually do. I am doing a monitored clomid cycle right now. You take clomid days 5-9 and then they bring you in to monitor on CD12, and they keep checking every few days to see when your follicle(s) are ready to go.

I'm in the same boat as you, so am very interested in these responses! The only difference is that I'm on my third cycle of femara, instead of clomid. Our timing wasn't great last cycle, so hoping this one works!

Just be aware that you might ovulate sooner than expected, so keep that in mind when timing BD. I ovulated 2 days earlier last cycle, which took me off guard and with it happening over Thanksgiving at my parents, was too hard to do BD.

Good luck!! :goodluck:

It worked for me in a similar situation.

I was getting positive OPKs, cervical mucus, etc. but it was weird. I wasn't ovulating until CD 24-28 which my dr said was much too late. They said that indicated that something was wrong with my hormones - it wasn't a "strong enough" ovulation, or something, bc it was happening so late. When my dr did an ultrasound during my "natural" cycle prior to O, they could only find one small follicle, so it didn't look that great anyway.

And after I O'ed, I would get my period like a week or so later. My progesterone after O was very low too, so I never could have sustained a pregnancy even if I had gotten pg. (I was diagnosed with luteal phase defect). My doctor said he thinks it's all related - if my hormones were working properly so I O'd earlier (with a "stronger" ovulation), then my luteal phase issue/low P might resolve itself.

We also had some male factor infertility, so we did Clomid + IUI and I got pregnant the first cycle we did it! I know that is very uncommon so I feel lucky. But I really think the Clomid is what I needed. So I think it is definitely worth a try!

Oh, and they monitored me on the Clomid, and leading up to O (I had a trigger shot), I had 3 follicles and they were much bigger and healthier looking.

ETA... now I am 4w6d pregnant!

Originally, they were going to put me on clomid (but my fsh came back too high), and I asked them why since I O on my own. They said there is plenty of evidence to show that helps even women who O get pregnant. :goodluck:
