I have never heard of this being a factor in fertility. I guess mine were pretty light but no problems conceiving quickly.

Mine were light, and I had problems... but I don't think that in and of itself was the reason. When I really started tracking ovulation, cycles, etc. it was apparent that I was having ovulating very late in my cycle (cd 23-26), having really short luteal phases, and then super light periods. So, that was indicative of a problem for me.

But I don't think they are necessarily a problem! I had to go on Clomid and had an IUI to get pg. But it worked!

After I had my Mirena removed in November, I had two very light periods that only lasted 2-3 days at most. We started trying in January and I got pregnant that month so for us, it didn't make a difference.

My periods were really light after I went off bc, like I needed only a pantyliner for a couple days. It took a while for my cycles to regulate but I got pg after just a few months of ntnp once they were regular. It was a chemical but got a bfp after just one cycle following the cp. Then I had a couple hours of spotting and some cramps about 11 months postpartum, followed by another bfp. Good luck! Hope everything checks out and you get your bfp soon!

I've always had light periods, like 2-3 days on BCP, but once I came off that they were lighter still, 1-2 days and maybe a light tampon or two. I've had two miscarriages and each time it took about 8 cycles to get pregnant. Are the second mc they got so light I wasn't sure if I was actually having a period, like a few brownish spots one day! I maybe wore a panty liner.....I'm currently pregnant and 23 weeks along. I asked my Drs and hellobee when my periods were light and everyone said light periods are not directly related to undermine lining, but I am still so confused how a few spots of brownish blood could be enough to sustain a pregnancy, I wondered where the lining went and it maybe (?!?) it gets absorbed? I dunno, hard to think that a light period wouldn't mean thin lining. BUT I'm a success storey that super light periods can get you a BFP that sticks! I did take progesterone suppositories until 15 weeks, but that was because my ob was trying to prevent another miscarriage. Good luck, keep trying!

@libbylou: things that you're in the same boat but glad for you that your doctor will discuss it with you! If you remember, do you think you could message me or post back on this thread after your appointment? I'd love to know what other doctors say....

I've always had light and short periods. Before birth control they'd be 2-4 days, but pretty light. On birth control, they were a little heavier and more consistently 4-5 days. I went off the pill in May and got pregnant in July. After my first I went back on the pill and it was the same and the previous time I was on. I went off them, and ended up getting pregnant about a week later....

I came off the pill about 6 months before conceiving my daughter and had super light 3-day periods for those 6 months. We were trying to avoid during this time, had an oops moment in my fertile window and honestly I wasn't even that concerned - I thought there was no way I'd have enough lining to sustain a pregnancy with those light periods. But sure enough, I have an almost 3 year old today ;) Still boggles my mind!

Following as well! I go the 31st to discuss same issue. I have had life-long short and light periods. 2-3days, one tampon a day.

Interested in this as well. My periods lately have been only 2-3 days as well. Before my daughter they were much heavier and much longer.

Just finished having a 2 day period, again. My periods before BC were about 4 days, after BC 3 days, and after my loss they've been 2 days. The flow is really light as well, requiring only light tampons and/or pantiliners. I can't help but worry that my uterine lining isn't sufficient enough to sustain a pregnancy. My doctors don't seem to take that concern seriously, they think it's no big deal (maybe I should chill out like them, I know.) I'm having an ultrasound on CD 12 this time, but that primary purpose is to check on ovarian cysts.... I will be asking them to measure my lining, however, during the US.

Anyone else have very light periods but still have success getting pregnant?
