I bit the bullet and took it. I have zero regrets because after one dose I feel a million times better! I could actually chew on that side of my mouth at dinner.

I took it when I was desperately sick in my 3rd trimester.

My pharmacist would give it to me with a note from my OB, which I had. Had to be the stuff from behind the counter - the stuff on the floor is an absolute no.

I believe I did take it when I had a cold. I also used Afrin nasal spray, I think. My OB told me it was fine.

I took regular, straight-up behind the counter Sudafed during the second and third trimester. I avoided it during the first trimester because it sounded like more of a risk for birth defects (I can't remember any sources, just a rando Google search). I had a 10 week sinus infection though, so once it was safer I went for it.

My OB told me to take Sudafed when I had a bad head cold. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Also got prescribed a nasal spray. Feel better!

@EBSC: so dire! I'm 30 weeks so obviously a lot different than being in the first trimester!

My docs with both pregnancies have OKed and I've taken sparingly each time.

It was on every no list I looked at. I didn't take it when I had a bad head cold, but that was the first trimester and I think a little more dangerous.

My Dr did tell me last time that I could take Tylenol cold, which has phenylphedrine (SP?) Which is also on a lot of 'no' lists.

I wound up alternating allergy medicines and taking Tylenol. It's not nearly as effective but supposed to be "safe" on most lists.

I took it, no problems, my OB was gone with it. Since some people didn't recommend I tried to save it for dire situations , but yours sounds like it qualifies :)

Any mommas take Sudafed while pregnant? I have the worst sinus infection - my entire left side of my face from my cheekbone to my jaw is killing me. I went to the pharmacy in desperation at 2 am and the pharmacist wouldn't give it to me despite it being on my OBs list (which I showed her!) she said she would only recommend Sudafed PE to me which Google tells me No! My pharmacist friend said I could take regular Sudafed , so I grabbed it at Target but now I'm nervous! Is it only everyone else's "safe" list? I just need a little relief so my face doesn't explode!
