My 5 year old got over strep couple of months ago and got into this habit of clearing her throat. When I asked my doctor, she told me kids their age can develop little habits after a sickness. She advised not making a big deal out of it but everytime she does it, to mention it to her and ask her to stop. It worked :D

My 4 year old has suddenly started wiping her mouth with her arm/sleeve constantly. It first appeared a week or so ago when she got a cold- she said her mouth felt wet, and we just assumed that she was stuffed up and was getting more drooly because of that (though she didn’t seem so). The cold has passed but she’s still constantly wiping her mouth. So far it hasn’t caused much damage to her lips/face but I’m wondering what might be going on. She’s been fine otherwise, no behavioral changes or stresses, everything is normal in other respects. I don’t want to overthink this but of course Dr Google goes to OCD, tics, Tourette’s, and other big things that I start wondering how seriously to take this.
