This has happened to us during teething and during illness. Otherwise she's a great sleeper! You could try some tylenol, that seems to help my LO.

Those top 2 teeth were killer for us. And now at 11.5mo something seems to be doing it to him again. DS is up 4-5x/night at the moment :( I wish there was a magic cure, but at this point I'm just going to wait it out.

@jape14: I wondered about separation anxiety. I'm OVER it.

I really like the idea of the book. He was actually looking at a picture of us this morning on our bookshelf. I'm really hoping it only lasts a week - I'm tired and didn't realize how used to going down easily I had gotten.

We're going though this too! DD will be 11 months tomorrow and we're going into our 3rd week of this. We used to lay her down drowsy but awake and she would either roll over and immediately go to sleep or play with her Wubbanub for a while before calmly putting herself to sleep. I think our issue is more of a separation anxiety issue though - suddenly one night she started screaming as soon as I laid her down to leave the room and it's been the same every night since unless she happens to be so exhausted she falls asleep in our arms. She's happy to play for a while in the morning before yelling for us. It might be getting slightly better over time but still a lot of screaming...

We had similar regressions, and a couple more between 12-24 months but they always resolve. My only suggestion is hang in there and try to stick to your regular routine as much as possible.

@LBee: This happened to us too about a month, month and a half ago - I chalked it up to separation anxiety. My friend said the same thing happened to her twins around the same age. It lasted about a week or so for us. DH tried co-sleeping but that didn't work at all.

Things I tried - not sure which was the magic bullet, probably nothing: turned the nightlight back on, slept with his backup lovey and then switched them out during MOTN wakeups, gave him a shirt of mine to snuggle with/smell. My friend also suggested getting a soft picture book with pictures of us so he could "see" us at night (that's what worked for her twins) - the book never made it out of the playroom, but he loves it and apparently looks at it during the day. (I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U4AB58C/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1437398722&sr=1&keywords=soft+picture+book)

DS1 became like that around 7-8 months. He would scream and wake up if I went near it. No advice because we became co-sleepers. But just wanted you to know it happened to us too!

No advice but following. LO is the same - was champ self soother, crib while awake and fall asleep great. Now pulls up and sits and cries unless we run her back to fall asleep. This happened when she learned to sit herself up, crawl and pull up in her crib all in one week and with some traveling we've been doing we haven't had time to shake it. Also while traveling she's regressed to newborn sleep (at 10 mo!) and wakes almost every hour to nurse back to sleep, oye. Hang in there! Hopefully someone will have an answer...

Has anyone ever experienced their LO suddenly hating the crib?

LO has been going down awake for 6+ months. He never makes a fuss (can lay there 45+ minutes awake just playing with his paci) and is a champ self soother. As of Friday night, he suddenly is unable to do this. We go through the exact same nighttime routine and then the second I lay him in the crib he stands up in his crib and starts wailing. Last night we decided to try to re-sleep train him a little and he cried off and on for 1.5 hours (with us checking on him) until I finally got him down by holding his hand until he dozed off. Even when we first sleep trained him he never cried that long. What gives??? This scenario also occurs in his new found middle of the night wake-up. The only thing that settles him down is being snuggled.

The only different thing is he's cutting his top two teeth. I really try not to blame things on teeth (as I've done it before and they've never showed up), but this time I can actually feel them. Could teeth really be the culprit for this total personality change?

Help, Bees! I'm desperate! ... and so freaking tired.

He's 11.5 months.

ETA: We've tried co-sleeping. It works, but it's not a long-term solution for our family.
