@Jennibenni: I wouldn't worry, esp you said baby nursed for much longer before hand so maybe you were just more empty. Plus your body is probably still trying to regulate supply (they say by 12 weeks it should be regulated). Keep doing what you're doing!

Thank you all so much for the replies! @CakeLady: I usually pump in between nursing sessions, so not immediately after nursing. @TiredmommaMD: We haven't had his 2 month checkup yet, but did have a doctor visit a week and a half ago and his weight gain was great! Did you find that after the growth spurt you returned to pumping what you had been before? @MrsSRS: @Mrs. Bee: Thank you for the reassurance!

6 weeks growth spurt or maybe you drank less water that day or maybe your period is about to come back. Did you take any medicines? Unless your LO starts losing weight or acting different I wouldn't worry. Babies work better than pumps!

This happened to me around 6 weeks and I attributed it to the 6 week growth spurt. Baby was just taking all my extra supply. Perhaps that could be the cause? Did you already go to the Pedi for 2 month check up? If weight is good, baby is probably just taking more.

How long after you nurse are you pumping? If LO nursed much longer than usual, perhaps LO emptied your breasts more than usual. Also at around 2 months babies tummies are bigger and they eat more, it may just be that there isn't much left over to pump.

anything can affect your supply to take a temp hit. i wouldn't worry about your baby getting enough. the human body is amazing and if you baby is going through a growth spurt or needs more, he is probably fine.

maybe try pumping more regularly to see if you get a little boost in supply?

Hello! Longtime lurker, but I've joined to ask if anyone has any insight or similar experience. My first LO is 8 weeks old, and I've been pumping about once a day since week 2 to build a freezer stash and do the occasional bottle. Some days I haven't pumped at all, occasionally I have pumped twice. From the first time I pumped, I have always gotten at least 2 ounces from each breast, but usually much more. Last week I pumped ten ounces in a session.

Yesterday and today my baby has nursed for much longer at each session, and today when I pumped I got less than half an ounce total. What could be the cause, and should I be worried about my supply in terms of how much my baby is getting when he nurses? Has anyone else had this happen?
