@navy_mommy: Hmmm. He might just be wanting to sleep next to his mama. I think you just have to keep trying different things. Some of the moms here just ended up co-sleeping because it was easier for everyone. Have you tried having him sleep on the swing? I hear that works well for a lot of babies.

@banana: I tried full swaddle, swaddled with his arms free, and no swaddle at all...no luck.

@navy_mommy: Oh I tried. For like 3 weeks straight! He just didn't like it. Then I tried the pack 'n play and he hated that too. He loved sleeping on the swing but it didn't seem very good for his back. I know what you mean about the possibility of having him reject the co-sleeper. Do you have any mommy friends that can loan you one? The only other thing that worked for me was using the Nap Nanny. He loved sleeping on that.

Are you swaddling him? Maybe try swaddling or unswaddling and see if that helps?

@banana: I don't want to buy a co-sleeper and have him just reject that, too, know what I mean? Did you continue to try and put your LO in the bassinet or did you just give up?

Sounds exactly like what happened to me. My LO hated his bassinet all of a sudden so we had a few nights sleeping on our bed, which led to every night. We ended up co-sleeping for 2 months until I trained him to sleep in his crib. How about using a co-sleeper? That's what I plan on doing with my 2nd.

So, NavyBaby is 17 days old and for the first two weeks he was doing great at night sleeping in his bassinet (right next to me). There were probably 2 or 3 occasions where he wouldn't sleep so I just pulled him into bed with me, but that would only be for a few hours in between two feedings (you can't spoil a newborn, right?) But two nights ago he started REFUSING to sleep in his bassinet. Whether he's asleep when I put him down or not, the second he's in his bassinet he starts fussing (squirming and grunting). If I don't pick him up soon he starts crying, and then in order to get him back to sleep again I have to start nursing him. If I go to put him down again the fussing starts again.

Two nights ago we didn't get any sleep, it was just that process over and over again, last night it started again so I just nursed him to sleep and brought him into bed with me because I couldn't go through that all night again.

Did anyone else go through this? I really don't want him to get in the habit of sleeping in our bed all night every night, but I also have to sleep myself!

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!
