Maybe Yolanda. However, all of these names have pretty strong ethnic associations (at least in my mind...maybe it's based on people I know with the names). And if she's going for an "American" name, it might make things more confusing.</p> <p>Is the English name just to help English speakers say your student's name more easily? Because I don't think Yuah is hard to pronounce once it has been explained! </p> <p>Could you ask her what the name means? Maybe she can focus on finding an English name with the same meaning rather than a similar sound.</p> <p>ETA: Oops I missed that her name means beautiful girl.
