We have dark wood furniture and the walls are painted Cork Wedge by Shewin Williams. The lower half of the walls are in a bright white bead board. We didn't want to get stuck in a limited color scheme, and the tan wall color helps a lot in keeping some of it neutral. It would keep it kind of sophisticated yet bring some interest in with the different shades or different textures.
