We did something similar. We have dark wood furniture and the walls are painted Cork Wedge by Shewin Williams. The lower half of the walls are in a bright white bead board. We did Pottery Barn's Sweet Lambie and the paintings on the wall are in sky blue, grass green, shades of brown/kahki, and white.

We have the same color on our walls- the bottom half was painted camo by earlier owners, so we installed white wainscoting over the camo to brighten up the small space.

For color scheme, we went with browns, greens, and blues. We didn't want to get stuck in a limited color scheme, and the tan wall color helps a lot in keeping some of it neutral. We went with white furniture to give it more of an open and bright feel too.

We split the room about half nursery and half office since we are going minimalist with baby gear.

I would do white, brown, shades of blue and orange.
Similar to this:

^^ Agreed with adding pops of white or brights. Since it's already brown and you want brown furniture and it's a small room, you'll need something to keep it from feeling too heavy.

How about doing a room with different shades of browns and khakis. It would keep it kind of sophisticated yet bring some interest in with the different shades or different textures. I would also probably add some white or cream in there to break things up.

Since you're going with dark wood furniture I'd personally go with a light colour like white or light blue.

Our office is going to become the baby's room. It is painted Decateur Buff (a camel brown color by Benjamin Moore).

http://www.benjaminmooreonline.com/2373.html

We plan to go with dark wood furniture. It's a small room with only one window. Any suggestions on a color scheme? Was thinking a lighter or darker brown and light blues? I am SO not creative when it comes to this stuff.

Thanks : )
