Like for breakfast he will have cottage cheese with fruit (spoonfed) along with a finger food of some sort. I first place 1-2 pieces on his tray and he ends up playing with it and then it goes on the floor.... If I take small bits and put them into LO's mouth and then give him a few little bits, he will then do it himself. I've offered him other foods in small pieces (steamed broccoli, apples, carrots, bananas) but he only smashes them between his fingers, tears them apart, and/or throws them on the floor. The only thing he will pick up himself are puffs. He will eat the other foods when I offer to feed him though. Any suggestions on encouraging self feeding? (Btw, he was sick on and off for a good month and a half and lost a lot of his baby fat and just started eating full meals again so I worry if I don't spoon feed him, he won't be eating until he's full). </p>
