Great advice by Banana, the only things I would add is to call the hotel ahead of time and request a room with a mini fridge. This was a lifesaver for me esp when I got hungry or needed a snack in between meetings etc. Before getting to my hotel, I'd go buy a bunch of drinks, yogurts, and other snacks (from the nearest drugstore or even at the airport) and keep them in the mini-fridge. And of course, bring a copy of your latest medical records and emergency contact info. I had them in a waterproof thick clear folder.

In terms of workload, I asked to do a lot of work from the hotel. This way you can take naps but also be productive doing email or sending out documents while in your PJs in bed.

Yes, I had to travel for work very early in my 3rd trimester. Here are a few things to consider?

- Know where the bathrooms are at all times
- Carry water with you. All the walking around always made me so thirsty and I could never find a place that sold water fast enough.
- Wear comfortable shoes. I had to wear heels (well, low heels) so I always carried a pair of dressy flats in my bag for when my feet would start swelling up.
- Bring a thin cardigan/jacket with you. If you're gonna be indoor/outdoor a lot, it's good to bring layers in case you get cold.
- Snacks. For energy bursts.
- Ask for extra pillows in your hotel room for cozy sleeping.
- Don't forget to bring your prenatals! I always forgot to pack those little rascals.
- And finally, have a list of emergency contacts in your purse just in case. That way you can just hand someone the list of contacts rather than trying to find the phone #s in your cellphone. Juuuust in case. :)

Have fun!!

My due date is June 9th. I have three work trips tentatively scheduled for March and April. Two are in Florida and one is in Las Vegas. I figure I have the gist of how to handle the flight but how do I handle the workload? I figure I should ask the engineers to make sure I have somewhere to sit down and obviously not move any heavy equipment. I'll need to know where the water fountain and the bathroom are. What else should I do ahead of time to prepare?

Has anyone else traveled for work in their third trimester? How did it go?
