What about just a donation in her name to a charity. Maybe a mentoring charity with a note on how much she touched your life and hopefully others have the same opportunity.

I love Mrs. Lemon-Lime's ideas! I also would write a letter sharing what she has meant to you. That would be a true keepsake for her.

Hi! A former boss, mentor and friend is retiring from our company. She is out of state but I would like to send a gift or something to commemorate her retirement. The only thing I can think of is a restaurant gift card, along with a greeting card. COMPLETELY unoriginal!

I haven't worked closely with her in 6 years, so I don't have a good pulse on current hobbies, but she used to enjoy gardening and being part of her church choir. She will take some time off but then will seek a part-time job or second career. Anyway, does anyone have suggestions of something a little more personal to send her upon her retirement? Thanks!
