If your dates are flexible, you can really save some cash. My favorites have been the Riviera Maya in Mexico, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana). The DR is probably going to be your cheapest option, though the Riviera Maya wasn't as expensive as we thought either! I would highly recommend the Excellence in the Riviera Maya. Anywhere you go without kids you will look back on as such an easy and amazing trip. :) Not that it's impossible to travel with kids, but it's definitely different. I advocate for something that would be harder to do with kiddos. You can take lots of beachy vacations with little ones, so if there is anything you want to do/places that you would like to go that require lots of flights/difficult travel, aren't kid friendly activities or places, I would try my best to do that now because it might be more challenging for the next few years. </p> <p>That said, our pre-baby trip was to Puerto Rico, and I highly recommend Vieques (I've heard Culebra is awesome, too). They're little islands off the coast of PR, and they're super laid back with crazy secluded beaches. Think a pristine, perfect beach with maybe one other couple on the whole beach. We went to India and China - both were fabulous experiences, but would have been nearly impossible with DD. We have taken DD to Europe and the Caribbean - both were very easy with a baby as long as you are willing to let LO nap in a carrier/stroller. </p> <p>If you want to go on a trip before kids that's reasonable in terms of time and budget (so, not somewhere super far or exotic), I would say go somewhere with big restaurant/night life culture (New Orleans or Charleston would be my picks), somewhere you could do some adventure travel (like Costa Rica), or somewhere alcohol-based (like Napa).</p> <p>Sounds like a lot of fun. As most know, we're planning on starting TTC early in the new year.</p> <p>With that said, looking for some suggestions on where we should go. Thinking about a week, tropical/hot (we live in the Great White North) wouldn't mind all-inclusive and not super expensive. We went to Maui last year for 10 days, stayed in a rented condo and car and loved it, but we were with my parents so the cost was cut in half (minus the flights).</p> <p>Thanks, bees!! </p>
