We're having this problem too - LO (6.5 months old) has been STTN for a long time now, but for the past month he's been waking up between 5:45 and 6:30 (used to wake up at 7am). DH has started to change his diaper right when he gets up in the hope that maybe he'll be comfortable enough to fall back asleep for another hour, but that almost never works.

I leave him in the crib until as close as I can get to 7am. He'll usually happily roll around in there for at least half an hour, sometimes longer, but I'll get him and feed him when he starts to cry.

ditto at @Novababy112: we are in the same boat. ds has been STTN since 12 weeks, with a minor regression during 4 month and teething. he was sleeping 7-6 since the regression and the last week or so (almost 5.5 months) he's been waking up at 4am, tossing turning sleeping on/off for another hour or so and up wanting to nurse at 530am. soooo tired. :(

i'm just waiting it out before i try to paci him down in a week at the 530am wakeup.

No advice yet since A is only 5 weeks, but he LOVES 5 am. Wakes up like clockwork every day at that time, no matter what. So weird.

Good luck!

Hello Ladies!

To make our long story short, DS is 6 months and he underwent a sleep regression last month to the point where we caved and decided to sleep train. It has been a week since and his sleep improved significantly (knock on wood)! Unfortunately he has a habit of waking up between 5-6am and has a difficult time going back to sleep. He feeds at around 2am so I know he is not hungry and can go for another hour. (In the past I would get up to feed him but that would only wake him up some more and would want to get his day started). The past 3 mornings we treat this like any of his night wakings: we let him cry/ fuss it out and it seems to be working, but I am open to any other suggestions that has worked for you. I am quite curious since 5/6 am is probably the most challenging time for us!
