LO's name: Ryan
DOB: July 20
Due date: July 27
Delivery details: scheduled c-section
Birth stats: 7lbs, 12 oz, 20 inches long
Key milestones: giggles & belly laughs, rolled over from tummy to back once, beginning to grasp toys and bring them to his mouth
How's feeding going: formula fed from the beginning and he's always been a good eater (albeit very gassy so we use the "gentle" formula). currently up to 5 6oz bottles/day
How's sleep going: good! He was always a decent sleeper (as a newborn, woke up every 3 hours for feeding and right back to sleep 20-25 min later). Slept through the night (7-8 hrs in my book) between 9 & 10 weeks. He is 16 weeks today and sleeping 8-9 hours, usually from 9:30pm - 6am, then has a quick bottle and right back to sleep for another 1.5-2 hrs.
Other details: First child for us! I went back to work 3 weeks ago but Ryan's 2 grandmothers watch him, so I can't really complain - he gets so much love and attention!

Can't post a picture yet b/c I haven't posted enough, but I will later!

LO's name: Charlie

DOB: August 8

Due date: August 7

Delivery details: Vaginal, unmedicated birth. 1.5 hours of pushing.

Birth stats: 7lbs 6oz, 21 inches

Key milestones: Smiles, cooing, tracking, great head control, bats at toys. Uses "mmmm, mamamama sounds when upset" which I think is adorable :) He's very talkative and loves to chat with his stuffed animals and mobile toys.

How's feeding going: Great aside from what I think is reflux. He's EBF with one bottle of expressed milk in the evening that DH gives him. Recently the reflux has gotten worse and seems to really bother him at times. I'm going to bring it up to the pediatrician tomorrow at his 2 month appointment.

How's sleep going: Pretty good. He's sleeping in 3-4 hour stretches most of the time and occasionally one 5 hour stretch. He still naps a lot during the day too, usually one 2-3 hour nap and then a couple of shorter 30min-1 hour naps.

Other details: I'm at home for the time being as I was recelty laid off (which is fine by me) but will likely go back to work within the next couple of months. Although I'd like to have a little free time during the day, the thought of sending him to daycare breaks my heart. The longest he's been away from me is 1.5 hours when I go to the gym and leave him with DH. I have no idea how I'm going to manage leaving him for 9-10 hours with a stranger.

@krsmall: sleep regression - not yet. She is sleeping great but still only naps 30 minutes. I'm not too worried about the naps since she gets 12 hours of sleep a night.

@krsmall: Yeah, I stayed home today. Took an unpaid day off since I used up all my PTO having her. It's worth it. She's worth it. :) I think they can go to daycare as long as they aren't feverish and can manage to go along with everyday routine. She's just napping more than normal. Thanks for asking.

LO's name: Eleanor

DOB: June 8

Due date: June 6

Delivery details: scheduled c-section, no complications for either of us

Birth stats: 8 lbs, 19.75 in long

Key milestones: she has been smiling in response to smiles, kisses and singing for a while now, but she has started smiling in response to the older babies waving at her or saying her name at daycare. She also smiles when we (me, my husband and sometimes my parents) call her name and wave. She works at turning pages of books by herself when we read, and she laughs hysterically when the cat takes a treat from her hand, or when the cat rolls over or plays with toys. She is very verbal and is always chatting to whoever will listen!

How's feeding going: she’s a good eater. Takes 6oz every 3 hours (formula fed)

How's sleep going: great! She sleeps through the night (usually about 9pm-6am) about 97% of the time. Once in a while she’ll get up around 5:30 to eat, then goes right back to sleep until after 7am.

Other details: She has started running her hands through her hair to soothe herself to sleep. She doesn’t show any interest in rolling over, but she loves to sit up and only needs a little assistance to sit up most of the time. She shows signs of teething, but so far, no chompers have emerged.

@mediagirl: are you home with your LO since she's sick? I hope she feels better soon!! I know our daycare has a fever rule but I'm not sure how you deal with being sick. If what @mrs. wagon: said about being sick so much and LO can't go to daycare I'm going to be missing a lot of work once Brennan gets sick. Not that I'd really be missing work.. Hahahaha..

Chastenet: @Ree723: I agree. If all the baby is getting is breastmilk, they are EBF. I work so, I have to pump all the time for her. It's still breastmilk she's getting!

Hi ladies! Great to see you all here! It will be nice to have a place to discuss how our summer babies are doing and share ideas as our LOs go through the different developmental stages!

LO's name: Emily

DOB: June 21

Due date: June 21

Delivery details: Vaginal with epidural, less than an hour of pushing.

Birth stats: 7 lbs 6 oz; 21 inches

Key milestones: Smiling and laughing in response to social cues, interactive 'conversation' with lots of coos, moving on to consonant sounds in addition to vowel sounds., loves story time and looking at books. Just starting to push up on arms during tummy time (she abhors it so I don't make her do it as often as I should!) but is really good at sitting upright with minimal support and looking around.

How's feeding going: Great! She's EBF* with one bottle of expressed milk daily just to make sure she keeps taking a bottle. No issues with feeding and she's gaining weight like a champ!

How's sleep going: Wonderful! She's slept 7 hr stretches through the night since 8 weeks and is now sleeping 10.5 - 12 hrs overnight with no wake ups. She goes down around 6 or 7 and sleeps until 5:30/6:00 a.m. - we love it! Day time naps are only 30 min though every 2 hrs.

Other details: I'm a SAHM and love it. We're living in Australia whilst my family is in the US and DH's family is in the UK, so we're a bit isolated, but we've got a good friend network and are getting by. We're taking Emily on her first round the world trip to see both families at Christmas so a bit nervous about the travel but also excited!

Recent picture: Taken last weekend - not a great shot for showing how tall she is (25 1/4 inches!) but it shows her little personality I think...and her crazy hair!

* Does EBF mean that LO only drinks from the breast? Or does taking pumped milk from a bottle still count as LO being EBF? Never sure if I'm using the term correctly!

LO's name: Alice

DOB: August 8th

Due date: August 8th

Delivery details: Vaginal with epidural due to blood pressure spike when I reached 10cm. I was so close to getting my natural birth! 12 hours of labor and 45min of pushing.

Birth stats: 6lbs 12oz 17.7 inches

Key milestones: Smiles; pushes up on her forearms during tummy time; starting to coo, but at heart she's a grunter!

How's feeding going: Good! She is exclusively breastfed. At 6weeks I started pumping one bottle per day so DH could also enjoy feeding her and despite my worries she immediately took the bottle and had no nipple confusion. She's gaining weight and eats well!

How's sleep going: Pretty good. She generally wakes up at 3am and at 7am, she goes to bed with us at midnight. I just follow her lead in terms of schedule. She eats when she wants and sleeps when she's tired. The only time I actually put her down to sleep is when we go to bed.

Other details: I'm on maternity leave until mid-November then will be a WAHM with no help for the first month...I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage!
In January we are making a major life change and moving to the US from our current home in Paris, France. I'm excited because we will be closer to my family and it's a great adventure. But also a bit sad because we have many friends and family here who will be sorely missed.

@krsmall: yep :-/ her naps are 15-20 minutes at most in her crib. I miss her long 2 hour naps, 3 times a day. She gets so cranky from being sleep deprived and she won't let me set her down at all.

Is anyone going through sleep regression? I heard around 4 months its bad for sleep regression. So far, we have been doing great with night sleeping. His morning nap is always good but sometimes he struggles going down for his 2nd afternoon nap. However, since starting daycare he is only power napping. I'm not sure if its a result of the 4 month sleep regression or just the new environment at daycare.

I'll play

LO's name: Greyson
DOB: August 6
Due date: August 10
Delivery details: vaginal with epidural. Pushed for 45 minutes. He almost shared the same birthday with me :)
Birth stats: 6lbs 7oz. Not sure of the length because the nurse measured him wrong. When we went to the pediatrician, the nurse took like 2 inches off of him! I assume around 19 inches though.
Key milestones: smiles, coos, follows objects, bats toys, definitely knows mommy!
How's feeding going: exclusively pumping. I got down to just pumping 3x a day (to avoid pumpin at work when I go back into the office). Even though my supply is "ahead" of his needs right now, I'm always stressing that I will not produce enough!
How's sleep going: getting better. His sleep/naps are getting more predictable and he is back on his schedule after a few days of fighting sleep. Now he usually goes down with a pacifier and puts himself to sleep... Now if he would only stop waking at 3 and 5 am! :)
Other details: family is in town so he went from a nice quiet house to chaos! First day was nuts because of course everyone wanted to hold him when he wasn't sleeping which made him miss a few naps. He seems to be ok today though. My family probably thinks I'm a bit crazy with being so anal about his sleep though!

Due date: June 8th

Delivery details: vaginal with epidural, induced for high BP, 4 hours of labor, 1 hour of laboring down, 15 minutes of pushing

Birth stats: 8 lbs 13 oz, 19 in long

Key milestones: smiles, coo's, laughs, has a very ticklish tummy, rolls from belly to back, rolls from belly to side, loves her Sophie

How's feeding going: exclusively breastfeeding. I did pump for the first 8 weeks until breast feeding got easier.

How's sleep going: Awesome! She goes to bed at 7:30, sleeps until 5:30, eats and sleeps until 7:30am. She was actually a better sleeper around 2 months, sleeping from 7pm-8am without waking up.

Other details: She loves to watch her big brother play--he's like a mobile toy to her. He sings to her and plays peek-a-boo, they're really cute together.

LO's name: Evan Charles

DOB: August 8

Due date: August 10

Delivery details: Bad back labor, vaginal with two epidurals that ultimately failed (and a third once post-delivery that lasted like 8 hours--naturally); 2 hours of pushing, episiotomy + 2nd degree tear

Birth stats: 8 lbs 12 oz, 20 in long (although at our 5 day well-baby appointment they said he was 21.5 in long, so I'm not sure...)

Key milestones: Smiles, coos, rolling onto his side, pushing his chest up off of the ground

How's feeding going: Exclusively breastfeeding / pumping. Little Dude has a super strong sucking instinct, and won't take a pacifier...it feels like he's on my boob like 24 hours a day.

How's sleep going: Okay...he's gotten onto a pretty consistent night-time schedule...we usually get 3-4 hours stretches, and he wakes up once or twice. Daytime naps are more sporadic, but they're slowly settling down into a routine. We've pretty much followed his lead.

Other details: From the day he left the hospital until his 12 day pediatric appointment Little Dude was putting on 2oz a day. We haven't been back since (he has his first round of shots on the 12th), but I'm really curious to know what his weight is now!

LO's name: Megan
DOB: June 11
Due date: June 9
Delivery details: Vaginal with epidural. 2 hours of pushing.
Birth stats: 7lbs 3oz 20 3/4"
Key milestones: Smiles, giggles, cooing, tracking us and the dogs, laughing at the dogs. Most recently: rolling over from back to belly.
How's feeding going: (I could have written exactly what @mrs. wagon wrote) exclusively breastfeeding / pumping, and pumping at work. She's very fussy at the breast if she's not tired. I can nurse her in the middle of the night or before bed just fine but her evening feeding before bed is always a struggle.
How's sleep going: Pretty good. Most of the time she will sleep for 4 hour stretches. She is asleep by 7 and gets up 2-3 times a night.
Other details: She started daycare Monday. It hurt my heart to send her. She's doing pretty good but it really sucks to only see her for 2-3 hours a day.
Recent picture taken yesterday after I ran her bath. I had laid her down on her back. When I came back, I found this:

Again, jealous of the May 2012 babies thread... so toooootally biting off of their thread!!

LO's name: Josephine (Jodie)
DOB: July 17
Due date: July 24
Delivery details: vaginal with epidural-turned-spinal, 15 mins of pushing
Birth stats: 8 lbs 1 oz, 19.5 in long
Key milestones: smiles (especially after waking up!), giggles when she's in a good mood
How's feeding going: exclusively breastfeeding / pumping, and pumping at work. She's so fussy at the breast so I rarely nurse on work days.
How's sleep going: good! We struggled for a long time but she slept thru the night two nights ago (in rock n play) and last night only had one night feeding at 2am (in crib) so I can't complain.
Other details: Also have a 2 year old at home, Wagon Jr. (RJ) who loves his baby sister so far!
