I used to work at a half day summer camp for K-5. We tried to plan an activity or theme for each day. so to pull from that

- water day (sprinklers, water balloons)
- Car wash day
- science day (plan easy experiments)
- Winter day (do winter crafts, drink hot cocoa)
- sundae day (make ice cream sundaes)
- hoagie day
- unbirthday day (decorate cupcakes)
- talent show day (spend the day working on a song/dance and perform for the family that night)
- Art day (explore different mediums paint, clay, chalk)
- camping day (set up a tent, build a fire, make smores, tell stories)
- relay day (make an obstacle course, or do classic races like egg on a spoon, potato sack race)

maybe you can take these and use them in your home with your children or days when they invite friends over

@Bao: my city has two websites where they post weekly and monthly listings of free kid friendly activities in the area. Maybe your area has something similar?

I'm trying to think of some things to do with the girls this summer, since LO1 won't be in preschool for a few months. I think she needs some structure at least 1-2 days a week. I don't have much money for classes but was thinking maybe taking advantage of the free library activities. Or doing something else on a regular basis, that she can look forward to.

Will your LO do any activities this summer? Bonus if they are free and you are planning them yourself!
