Kinderpack makes carriers with a ventilation panel made out of it. They are really comfy in the summer. We both did get pretty hot and sweaty, but it was the only way she would sleep for a while so I just dealt with it and it didn't seem to bother her. She was usually in just a onesie and I wore very light thin clothes (workout type shirts are good though probably I jut wore nursing tanks since it was all that fit.) I got c a cute little hat with a brim to keep the sun off her head. They help cool but don't feel actively wet to the touch. You would need to be careful and make sure you can see baby has a nice clear airway, but if you are following the TICKS guidelines (www.schoolofbabywearing.com/Images/TICKS.pdf) you should be just fine.
