I loved it. I went from age 11-15.</p> <p>I'll definitely consider sending my LOs to camp when they are older. My husband went to boyscout camps, but he doesn't get the "sending your kids away" idea. I went for shorter amounts of time for the next few years. I loved it. I was a pretty independent, fairly outgoing kid though. Every year from when I was 9 to when I was 14 I went to a sleep-away camp for a portion of the summer and a day camp for the other portion. I have such great memories from both camps, but especially the sleep-away camp. DH and I discussed it and it's definitely an experience I want our children to have.</p> <p>Also, I'm on the west coast and there are plenty of camps here.
