I'm pretty worried about this actually. It's only about 8 degrees celsius now, and I'm a heat box ALL THE TIME. We have a second floor apartment that gets pretty stifling in the summer. I told DH I'll probably put a mattress in the back of his truck and sleep in the nice cool basement parkade.

I was so happy about not getting a winter coat too! However if our Canadian winter lasts much longer I might be in trouble!

When are the summer shorts and skirts going to come to the mat stores? I've seen some dresses but no shorts yet! Guess I'll have to be patient.... Lots of time until I will be needing those anyways.

I'm not too worried about the heat. Luckily I work in schools and will be done work in June and I will just stay in my air conditioned house or hit up a friend's pool for the summer.

I'm not looking forward to the heat, but I'm really pleased that I won't need to get a new winter coat! Also my sandals are my most comfortable shoes.

I'm an August 2012 mom. I lived in Old Navy dresses and Crocs flats during the summer. Chicago was really hot and humid last summer. I dreaded walking to the El or anywhere near the end of my pregnancy.

I just wanted to say that as a winter mommy I'm a little jealous of the August mommies! I am dying to take Sadie out for a walk, but it's freezing! Y'all will have perfect walking whether as September approaches.

Due at the end of August... in Texas... if I hear one more time from somebody else how miserable that is going to be I might just scream! lol. That is possibly the one thing I am dreading the most. Hello AC bills!

@Alivoo01: I second that on the ballet flats. I have a heck of a time finding ballet flats that don't look like clown shoes on my feet. I am wondering what I will wear if I'm blessed with a new job by next summer.

@Alivoo01: I've had a pair from the Banana Republic for a long time. Several pairs of Kennith Cole Reaction (one purchased at the hideously high full price, one dirt cheap at DSW clearance), and some other random ones. They all suit my feet, and if you can't find any, maybe the shape doesn't work for you. How about clogs?

@Alivoo01: The flats I lived in were just a random pair I had from the previous year (Gap ones) that were a bit too big but when I realized my feet had grown half a size during my pregnancy, they fit like a glove and were the perfect pair to slip on and off. They were dark grey metallic and matched with anything I wore, too! I like Gap flats because when on sale, they are cheap enough to buy a couple of pairs and they last quite a while!

@Alivoo01: I wore a lot of ballet flats, but I had to start stuffing arch supports into them. Maybe buy half a size up for this reason. I also expected to find the big stretchy belly on pants really hot and itchy, but I really didn't. Motherhood Maternity's secret fit is really thin and non constricting. Asos also sells and endless variety of pretty cotton dresses that are good for work and for just fun.

I was september 2011, and I loved it honestly. I just wore tiny thin maternity dresses and flip flops for months. Towards the end I wasn't going to be super active anyway, so it was easy to just take lazy walks and go swimming and all that in the summer heat.

I was also an August 2011 mom and it was a scorching summer but it wasn't too bad. I stayed indoors with the AC but being outside in the sun for a bit was nice, too. I lived in flip flops and flowy everything!

I feel really positive about being pregnant in the summer because I've heard that flip flops become your staple footwear towards the end anyway - I wouldn't want to be in flip flops in the freezing rain! Also, I second the comments about floaty maxi dresses - I have a wardrobe full! I will also be glad not to be heavily pregnant in the ice and snow - I have enough trouble staying upright in the winter without adding a great big bump to the mix!!

@lawbee11: Summer flowy dresses are great!!! The only issue I had was watching to make sure my boobs still fit and they were long enough in the front.

Another perk is that there is a lot of fresh fruit in season! I ate tons of strawberries!!

@lawbee11: Looks like I need to go invest in some because all my summer dresses won't fit once my belly is of substantial size in the 3rd trimester. I feel like my body is swelling up just thinking about the heat... haha!

I was a June mom and the heat wasn't too bad. The comments about the heat were probably worse than the heat itself!!

I sometimes think having an August due date would be awesome because I would have had three months at home during the most beautiful months in NC - Sept, Oct, Nov. It was really hard to not go outside on those wicked hot summer days when I was going stir crazy but it was too hot to take my newborn out!!
