We use TruKid sunscreen and iPlay reusable swim diapers from Target. They are both great!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: also check with your pediatrician. Our said the preference was to keep her out of the sun through clothes and shade but that if sun exposure was inevitable to use the sunscreen. She suggested checking it on her skin in one small spot a few days before using it and to give her a bath as soon as we get home.

@Foodnerd81: a sunstick is a great idea. We really struggle with getting it on her face!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I think they say 6 months? you can purchase SPF clothing from a company called Coolibar. We bought little tights for E.

I picked up a 50spf rash guard at Walmart for $6.44 if anybody wants some inexpensive rash guards.

Another fan of Think Baby. It's the only "natural" one I can seem to rub in. And a stick for extra face protection while out and about - we used Neutrogena and Babyganics last year.

DH's grandma works at Baby Gap, so we have always gotten swimsuits/rash guards there. Also we have done well with the iPlay hats with neck protection. I had melanoma while pregnant with DS so I don't take any chances!

I used California Baby sunscreen on LO last year and didn't really like it. I bought some Think Baby at the end of the year based on recs on HB but only used it once, so the jury is still out.

I prefer the Applecheeks swim diapers because of the snaps, but we have an honest company one too, which I also like. I did not like the iplay ones because they were too hard to pull on and off my baby's chunky thighs.

I got this years rash guard at Carters, but I was also eyeing some cute ones at Target and Old Navy. Gap had a really cute one in baby sizes, but not in my LOs size. :bummed:

I used blue lizard last summer but I thought it was a little tough to rub in. But it never irritated her sensitive skin.

I'm planning to get a swim zip rash guard- long sleeve, zips all the way up so no pulling tight necks over big heads! My friend has one for her son and im obsessed.

Oh and stick sunscreen is great for little faces. I used the babyganics one but I know some don't like that brand.

And a good sun hat is a must. The type prob depends on what your kid tolerates.

I think we used Alba baby last summer and liked it. I remember reading somewhere that it blended in better on darker skin tones rather than remaining white.

I second think baby sunscreen. Very easy to put on for a mineral sunscreen. I love the honest company reusable swim diapers. They are so cute! Also like the Applecheeks swim diapers because they have snaps and you put them on like a regular diaper instead of pulling them up.

I've used Think baby both years and I love it. High rating on EWG and still easy to spread for s mineral based.
Thinkbaby: SPF 50+ Sunscreen, 3 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005GRBBPK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_eI6.ub1TDC8KS

I just bought a rash guard from TCP, it has SPF and all that good stuff. DD's swim diapers were iPlay. There's a cute rash guard from target I'm eyeing too. I bought long sleeved last year and it was way too warm for my hot blooded girl. So I'll just have to slather on sunscreen on her arms.

P.s. In case you didn't know, swim diapers only hold poop! So wait till the last second to change into that! :P

Summer is still a good 3m away here....sigh

We had 2 nice days this week (only a couple days after an ice storm...) and now after planning a summer trip I need ideas!

What sunscreen do you use for your <1 yo LO? Why do you like it?

I'm planning on getting a rash guard and then just some cute swim diapers (reusable) for LO. Where do you get yours? I burn like crazy so I'm not going to mess around with the cute little frilly strappy stuff for her in case she inherited my skin!
