It's a very wide brim and pricey. But the head is adjustable so it grows with them. There's a mesh on the head so it allows their head to breathe. DD loves them and will keep it on all day. Yes her head does get a little sweaty but not too bad. It seems like the same material as sweat-wicking workout clothes, so hopefully it won't be too hot! But lately it's been warm and humid and her head sweats so much, I can't blame her for trying to take it off a lot now. She has fair, very fine hair so she needs something to protect her scalp, so it's a hat or smearing her whole head in sunscreen. </p> <p>Can anyone recommend a hat that breaths better but still protects from the sun? I wear a visor but my hair actually covers my scalp.</p> <p>Her current hat is a wallaroo kids hat that is lined in terry cloth- she actually really likes the hat but just gets too hot.
