I don't find sunny vs cloudy to be any different, it's still bright when it's cloudy, even more so in a different way. I felt self conscious when I moved back to an area where people didn't wear them as much or mostly only in the summer cause they see sunglasses as a fashion thing. But it's not like it's bright only in the summer and these people are squinting while I'm not so now I couldn't care less. I used to always hang them on the front of my shirt but I dropped them a lot this way so now I keep them in a case in my purse. For you I'd attach cords, I've seen that in plenty of men I work with. They sell them in plain black neoprene type material too. Even on cloudy days I need them. I think it's easy as a girl though, just put them in my purse or on my head when I don't need them. But since I've moved to countries where people don't wear them as often, I've been super self-conscious about wearing them while talking to someone. It started when I lived in Asia where it was almost considered rude to have them on while talking to elders. Now that I live in Sweden and because it's hardly ever sunny (lol), no one really wears them. Even during the summer when the sun is out from morning to night, it's rarely sunny the whole day.
