We live on the west coast so it's going to be much easier to just let my ds stay up until we leave. I am more worried about him sleeping an hour on the way home (right around his bedtime) and then not wanting to go down when we get home. Perhaps we'll leave early if the game is heavily favoring one team or another. Go Seahawks!

We're going to a Super Bowl party tomorrow and also bringing LO. I am usually the DD so we just leave early when we need to. She sleeps really well in her big girl car seat so I usually settle her in first, drive to a Starbucks drive through or around the neighborhood and come back to get DH to give him extra time with the friends.

We're having people come over to our house - that's the easiest! Especially bc I could care less about the game, but love having friends over.

DH is going solo to a party our kidless friends are throwing. It starts at 4:30 so while I technically could go with LO for a couple of hours, I'd have to drive home, which means no drinking. I'm using it as an opportunity to have a nice, quiet night to myself catching up on magazines and garbage TV!

We're going to a party at a friend's place to watch and bringing LO. Luckily, they live about 5 minutes away, so when it's her bedtime around 8pm, I'll leave with her. I'll put her down and finish the game at home. DH will stay and then come home after the game.

We're going to our BFF couple's house, a little over an hour away. Hopefully DS will nap on the way there and we'll just posh bedtime back (probably leave around 8ish). DD is flexible. They're 16 months and 10 weeks old.

@cyan: let me know how it goes. I'd be fine with putting her in a pack and play for a nap, but I'm afraid of doing it for bedtime then waking her up and putting her back to sleep at home. Her sleep is already pretty crappy right now.

We brought DD last year when she was 8 weeks. She was still tiny enough to fall asleep in my arms or on my chest, so I excused myself to a bedroom and nursed her to sleep and then came back down to the party with her in my arms. I kind of miss that stage in retrospect!

We are *planning* to go to a party at our good friends' house half an hour away. LO's bedtime is 6:30 or 7:00, so the plan is to do her evening routine at home, hope she gets sleepy on the drive, then put her down in a pack 'n' play in a spare room once we get to our destination. I honestly have no idea how this will actually play out, we have never tried before.

@Bookish: That sounds pretty perfect. I'd love to go over early then leave at the first quarter or something, getting her home close enough to bedtime, and then I can watch the half time show. But DH really doesn't want to leave part way through, which I guess I get? If we had two cars I'd just leave early but we just have the one. Oh well. I'll take a cute picture with her little football and call it a day.

We're bringing them. We have friends that live about an hour away, and they have a party every year. Last year, they were little enough that they slept anywhere. This year, they go to bed around 8, and we're going to chance it, even though it's right in the middle of nap time. We'll put them down at our friend's house, and hope for the best.

I don't want to miss S's bedtime on a Sunday night so I think we will just invite my parents over and keep it a little quieter than normal Super Bowl festivities!

What are your plans for the Super Bowl, and how are you handling it with a Lo with an early bed time?

The game starts at 6 on the east coast, C goes to sleep between 7 and 8. Our friends that are having people over live 20-30 minutes away and we only have one car. While we could push it on her bedtime for an hour maybe beyond that we will have met down city.

So most likely Dh is going to go watch with his friends while I stay home with the baby. Whomp whomp. I don't care about the game so much but I'm sad to miss getting together with friends. But I'm sad about missing an idealized version, not the reality of dealing with an overtired baby in an unfamiliar place. :(
