@blackbird: that is why I didn't do it, because my son is a complete contradiction when it comes to sleep!

@blackbird: I know! Or start screaming bloody murder!

@looch: Sadly sometimes she wakes herself to eat as late as 4:30! Then only sleeps another 90mins-2 hrs before she's up for the day. It's weird! She used to sleep 3-4 hrs after her night wakings. I don't know what's up.

@JoJoGirl: It's a method where you basically "wake" your kid about an hour before they're waking up in the morning, just enough to disrupt their current sleep cycle to get them to sleep in.

So, if you have a 5:30 wake up, at 4:30 you're supposed to go in their room, turn on a bedside table lamp, change their diaper and then they're supposed to magically sleep in. It is a Baby Whisperer technique.

I came THIS CLOSE to trying it, it was that bad, then it just stopped.

@looch: What's that?

DH asked me if we could CIO when she woke up at 5:30am the other day. LOL, no.

My son was the same. There was a period of time where he was getting up super early, and then all of a sudden, it stopped.

I was so desperate, I was considering employing "wake to sleep."

R is almost 6 months, 3 months of day care and she wakes up all over the place. It sucks. I just pray that she doesn't wake up at 530 on the weekends

We are good about putting LO to bed the same time every night. Bath time is exactly 7pm, then nurse, swaddle, and sleep by 7:30pm (still trying to work a book in there but she's so fussy and overtired by then!). For my last week of maternity leave, she was sleeping until 7:30am on the dot every day! It was glorious! Then we went on vacation and she started waking earlier, and I keep waiting for it to go back, and it hasn't. Some mornings she gets up at 5:30am and won't go back to sleep, and most days now it's 6 or 6:30am. It sucks. I know I was wearing her more on leave, and daycare does that as much as they can, but I can't think of anything else we did differently.

Do we need ot just resign ourselves? My ISIS sleep consultant said we can make wake times later by not turning on lights etc and I did that from 5:50 til 6:15am today when I needed to get ready for work, but she was not about going back to sleep. :(

ETA: LO is 4 months.
