@Danizaur: what flow of nipple are you using for the bottles? Maybe switch back to newborn and make it a little less instant gratification?

@Danizaur: do you have any pumped milk you can give him? Or can you pump a little right now? If he hasn't nursed in quite a while, maybe he's also a little hungry and frustrated. If you can give him just a little via bottle first, you might be able to get him to nurse afterward. Or, you can pump just until you let down, and get him to nurse right then.

Oh yeah- what @avivoca said, too- switch nurse. You can switch back and forth every 30 seconds if necessary. I'm sorry, I know this is so rough.

I kept switching sides as frequently as necessary until we got a letdown. Try that?

Can you pump right before you try to nurse to make LO less frustrated until you get back into a rhythm? Just keep trying different locations, positions, without distraction etc. It will work itself out. My LO went through a nursing strike at 13 mo and we just had to keep trying. After a few days, all was well again.

I've tried everything. I can't get him to nurse long enough to get a let down. He has a fairly full belly and I tried distracting him but it's not working. He keeps having a meltdown and pushing me away.
When I switch sides he acts relieved and latches on quickly and then quickly gets upset again. I know he wants to nurse and I'm honestly so sad right now. He hasn't had any milk since about noon.

We just kept going and he adjusted. I think we started doing solids first around that time. With a not so empty tummy, he was a little more patient!

Is there anyway to stimulate your breasts before he latches? When we had latch issues I used this little suction nipple assist thing (you could accomplish the same thing manually) and it used to get the milk flowing a bit. Maybe even just a manual breast pump for a minute or two before you put him on? Or maybe try offering him the breast when he isn't quite so hungry or is otherwise distracted and might feel more patient.

Mine had a rough week about a week or two ago. I try to distract her until she can get a letdown. I play with her hands, make faces, make noises, pat her back or booty- whatever works. When she gets the letdown, she's fine!

I had (occasionally still have) a similar issue and try to do breast compressions when she first latches on. I feel like the extra stimulation helps me let down faster. It's so hard, but try not to stress about letting down, in my experience that just makes it worse. I also try to lean back a bit, close my eyes, and really concentrate on feeling her suck -- sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. I was having some supply issues recently but bounced back once I started eating more oatmeal, and my letdown hasn't been as much of a problem since, but it was definitely not a fun time for either me or LO.

This has been going on for about a week but it's just now started affecting my supply and our nursing relationship. At 9 months, I have considerably less (but enough) milk and I take twice as long for a let down to flow. T keeps getting frustrated and pulls off and cries instead of continuously sucking until the milk starts to flow. I usually end up offering the other breast (right isn't as bad as left) and keep trying and hope I will let down quickly.

Well now it seems like it's taking even longer. It may be because this past week we've been nursing less often. I've abandoned 2 nursing sessions today alone because he gets too frustrated. Obviously that isn't good for my supply.

Any advice? We still have at least 3 months left to make it to our goal and I don't want to give up.
