I'm starting Crinone tonight and soooo not looking forward to this! Anyone have irritation from it? Like itching etc? I've got a very sensitive who-ha and worried I won't react well.

Yep totally normal! My RE warned me about it. I just cleaned it out in the shower. I definitely would have freaked out if no one had told me that happens!

I had this happen too. It ended up in this pocket around my cervix and on the sides I didn't even know I had! Lol. It helped to squat in the shower and scoop it out. I was so grossed out by what came out but its normal.

Oh, I forgot to tell you this one because it's kinda funny... I know my Ob went through some sort of treatment to have her first LO in her early 40s. When I graduated back to her, she had to do my annual exam and commented on the white gunk. She said if I hadn't mentioned it, she would've thought it was a bad yeast infection! So gross lol! I was surprised my RE didn't mention that I would have build up either.

Thanks all. And @Princessbaby glad to know that I'm still getting all the progesterone even if I clean out the clumpy bits.

I really, really hope this works. My progesterone was about 7 last cycle, RE says it needs to be over 15...

I had some occasional irritation from it and caused some spotting, but it was really dark brown. I took had a cottage cheese effect. I had to take it twice a day and usually cleaned up while I was in the shower in the morning. I would take my morning dose after my shower. Definitely didn't seem so gross in the shower and I could also thoroughly scrub my fingers

It's totally a thing and I did clean it out about once a day or so. I also had some irritation when I first started using it but my body seemed to adjust to it eventually.

Totally normal! I wouldn't have known about it if someone on here didn't warn me!

I used it in the morning. I was told/read that it absorbed better that was as opposed to the capsule type progesterone which I would manually insert and did before bed. I would shower, use my right hand middle finger to reach in and scoop anything out (in the shower), and then insert a new applicatorful after the shower. It didn't seem quite as gross when I did it in the shower?

It's not gross - it's totally normal with Crinone! I had to do the "clean out" occasionally bc if you don't, it will build up and I got irritated a lot from it. Crinone actually irritated the crap out of my cervix and cause multiple spotting incidents... The important thing is that the buildup is just the byproduct of the Crinone, not the actual progesterone, so you don't have to worry that you're not getting the progesterone you need:)

So I just started Crinone (progesterone suppositories) a few days ago for my TWW following IUI. This is the first time I've used it.

No side effects so far except... well... ok, this is SO GROSS so if you have a sensitive stomach quit reading...

It leaves, like, all this disgusting "progesterone cheese" up in my vag that seems to solidify  They did NOT tell me about this at the RE's office! It is so disgusting.

So far I've tried to sort of clean it out with a finger (at night, I use it in the AM) but I feel like there's probably a lot more in there I'm not getting to. Seems like it's just going to get nastier the longer I use it.

Does anyone have a, uhmmm, strategy for dealing with this? Is it better just to let it sit in there? I don't know.

Sorry for any who read this who got grossed out!!
