I am 36 almost 37 weeks and have been dealing with this lovely issue! Especially since the third tri - it's been so bad! Ugh - my worst preggo symptom for sure. I went in and got checked once and it turned out to be yeast, but I also just have really watery discharge, and it had caused a few of the yeast issues.

@travelgirl1: I had the same thing at about 33-34 weeks and was freaking out. A lot of googling later, it said the amniotic fluid usually has a very sweet smell to it, so I was able to relax a bit. I still have days that are "wetter" than normal (wear a pantiliner!) and some that are completely dry, so I think it's all part of the craziness that comes with 3rd trimester.

Thanks girls! Everything's okay... they took a swab and it wasn't amniotic fluid, but I do have a yeast infection. Baby's heartbeat was quite high so they monitored me until it calmed down, but they think it was me being anxious that had caused that.

@highwire: Well yes that was the other thing I hadn't shaved! I was mortified but I guess they see it all the time. I really must book in for a wax or something though.

And holy shit, how much does it hurt when they swab your cervix???? And that won't come close to labour. I will definitely end up with an epi!

That's how my water broke, too. But you don't have to have the baby just because your water broke (if that's what it was). Hope you're doing ok!

And yes, it would smell (sickly) sweet.

I think I read somewhere that if there's no smell associated with it, then it's probably just normal discharge - I want to say amniotic fluid smells kind of sweet?

BUT I can't remember where I read there so maybe I'm just crazy. Let us know what your doctor says!

I had this at about 20 weeks. They tested for amniotic fluid and it was negative, just increased discharge. Keep us posted!

Good luck! I hope it turns out to be nothing...

Don't worry about your legs - I looked quite horrendous by the time I went into L&D :)

@travelgirl1: Good luck! I went in to L&D last week for some cramping, and I was totally unshaven (both legs and pubic area) and I was totally embarrassed LOL. But they see it all!

My water broke when I was 36 weeks and it felt more like trickling than the "big gush" you sometimes think of. When I called my OB they had me come in to make sure it was my water, but I wasn't having any contractions at the time either. I would definitely call and at least get it checked out!

Sorry for the TMI but I have nowhere else to turn, lol! Today I keep noticing trickles coming out... but it doesn't feel like pee. So I went to the bathroom and it doesn't smell like pee either, it's clear and watery. Should I call the hospital just to check? What do you think? I'm 35 weeks today. No other symptoms of pre-term labour.
