@mamag @twodoghouse: yeah, that seems like a good reason to size up now as opposed to buying more later on :)

The most my kids (both formula fed) ever took at one time was 6oz. I sure wish they'd just make 6 oz bottles instead of 5oz! Hello bottle companies, I'm talking to you and shaking a fist!

@ldh112: I nursed and supplemented my twins until 13 months (then moved to wcm and nursing). We ended up using the 8 oz bottles eventually, even though they rarely took more than 6 oz at any given time. It was just nice to have the big ones available to offer 8 oz if I needed (like at bedtime).

You can always get the bigger bottle as eventually you'll need it, vs getting the small and then having to get a bigger one?

With breastmilk, the content changes to suit your baby so a baby can drink the same amount, but with formula they do drink more as they get older.

My 9 mo old has been drinking 3-5 oz of breastmilk this whole time, but if she takes formula it has to be 6-8 oz.

Currently we supplement about 2-3 oz from a bottle. The born free slow flow bottles we've been using are getting easier for my almost 3 month old to suck down so I am switching to Comotomo... Should I go for 5 or 8 oz? I can't imagine ever giving her that much formula but I don't quite know how much babies take later on. My plan is to continue BFing and top off with formula as needed so I don't know if the 8 oz size is too big with this regime.
