@coacheswife123: how's he doing with solids? We just cut L back to two 4 oz bottles at daycare. Before that I was thawing 4 oz a day to cover my decreased output.

@Smurfette: I went from pumping about 40 oz a day to 20-25 and he still drinks close to 30 ! I'm kicking myself for donating 200 oz !

@coacheswife123: I would probably start supplementing with formula and see how he takes to it. If he's fine, then I'd pump as much as I could, use 1 frozen bag, freeze a replacement bag, and cover the rest with formula.. If that makes sense.. That way when you get to the 1 year mark you'll have 450 oz. of relatively fresh frozen milk!

I would supplement with formula to extend time with BM. I can't believe you have gone through your stash, you had so much!

I don't have any experience with this (yet!) but I think I would do what you said you wanted to - start supplementing with formula now so that you extend the length of time that he gets breast milk! I think I read somewhere that even just two servings of breast milk a day gives almost the same benefits of EBFing, so if you can extend that time as long as possible, that might be better? I don't really know, but I think that's what I would try to do!! <3

LO is 9 months old and I am consistently dipping into my freezer stash to meet his oz requirements. So far we haven't supplemented at all with formula. He had mspi issues so I'm wanting to ease him into cows milk after his birthday and planned on mixing cow milk with frozen milk at first. But I I keep using my stash I won't have any left at that point. I have some formula and thought about using my freezer stash until I had a months worth left to mix with cow milk then switch to supplementing with formula to make up what I'm lacking until he turns a year

So : should I save some stash to ease him into cow milk after a year and supplement with formula until then ? I'm kind of leaning towards doing this because it will allow him to have breastmilk past his first bday. If I try to skip the formula and keep using my stash I may end up needing formula anyway because I don't know if I will be at the year mark then

I have about 480 oz in my stash and am using5-10 oz a day to mix with fresh.
