I do from the tap or a bottle of formula; since I don't pump there's nothing to mix. We go through a small can every 2-3 weeks.

My let down is really slow. I pump for 30 mins 3x a day at work. It makes up half her intake at daycare.

If I don't pump enough at work, I add in one more pumping session before I go to bed.

She gets both breastmilk and then formula at every feeding (except for first thing in the am when my breasts are really full)

i never mix the two in the same bottle in case she doesn't finish it all. That means none of my breastmilk ever gets wasted.

Formula lasts a long time in our house since daycare provides it as part of their care. So we are only using our own formula 1x a day and on weekends.

I pump at work and leave bottles of BM for when I'm at work. If I don't have enough to fill her bottle with BM I will add formula to the same bottle. She's been supplemented since the beginning due to small size and slow gain, and she's never had a problem drinking mixed bottles.

I pump at work 3x (don't want my supply to go down) even though I don't make enough milk for LO at daycare so I just leave some formula for her there and after she's done with her BM bottles for the day she gets formula.

Right now LO is on fortified breast milk (so we mix 1 tsp per 4 oz of breast milk to add extra calories since he was a preemie). So I'm not opposed to supplementing with formula... I'm actually strongly considering it for when I go back to work when LO is 3 months old. It takes me 25-30 minutes to pump enough for his next feeding and I think I would need to do 3 pump sessions at work to meet his demand so it's looking like supplementing might be the best route. I still want him to have some breast milk but I don't think I can realistically devote an hour and a half (plus washing pump parts) during the work day to pumping, even if I worked while pumping.

How do you supplement? Is one bottle all formula and another all breast milk? Or do you mix them so that each bottle is half and half?

How quickly do you go through formula?
