C always preferred cloth as well. She'd go to town on her A+A blankets. The teething gels and powders and tablets never did anything for us. We gave her Tylenol to get her through when it was really bad, mostly at night and only as a last resort. She also has a Sophie.

She also has a wooden teething ring that she LOVES. I got it from here:

I second Camilia byt Boiron it's a lifesaver and it's homeopathic so there are no contraindications and no issues with side affects (like tylenol on their liver). She also loves Sophie and we have our teethers in the fridge not freezer. Frozen was always to cold for her.

I spent way too long researching teethers when LO apparently prefers cloth! She likes to chew on receiving blankets (which I have tons of) and cloth toys, especially. They don't have Orajel here and when DH asked the local pharmacist, he was told we're not supposed to give her anything for teething pain.

So we've gone without. And surprisingly, it was (and still is bare-able). It was pretty bad a month or so ago, and I felt just awful, but it came and went. I realize it's not over yet, but she's 5.5 months now and can actually hold things on her own, so she manages to self-sooth.

My advice is to not be afraid to let her munch on cloth. It's easy to clean and all that wetness is automatically absorbed.

1.Amber teething necklace.

2.Boiron Camilia teething relief.... I've tried the Hylands teething tablets but don't like that they have belladonna in them & they don't seem to work very well. The Boiron have no questionable ingredients, come in pre measured sterile ampules so they're really easy to give, it doesn't taste bad or make her mouth "numb",, & I've only had to give a 2nd dose a couple times.

With the combination we've been able to drop using Tylenol & P is pretty close to herself aside from still chewing on things a bit more than usual. :)

@Bao: We have both. They use the gel at day care sometimes. However, he just really likes the tablets. I have no idea why..they have some herbal substances that provide relief, I think. I have tasted them and they taste like powdery nothing. But he gets visibly excited.. so that's why I buy them! He likes to pick them up and pop them in his mouth.

We have some homeopathic teething tablets which do seem to help calm her down. I can't remember the name, but can check tonight when I get home if you want. I just got them at WalGreens so they are a pretty big brand.

LO also likes to chew on Sophie, a cool washcloth and this Mam brand teether thats a flower design - the "petals" chill in the fridge/freezer and then she holds the ring part in her hand. She didn't/doesn't like the raz paci because it's too big for her mouth - it seems like a lot of teethers are so big, they are too big to be chewed on easily.

@T-Mom: Oh! we got LO a soft bristle/rubbery type toothbrush for Christmas, I bet that would be helpful! Do you like the tablets vs the gel?

We are still in the throes of teething at 15 mo.. In the earlier days DS liked the Baby Banana teether a lot: http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Banana-Bendable-Training-Toothbrush/dp/B002QYW8LW
He also loves the Orajels Naturals teething tablets. They are his baby drugs and he still gets excited when he hears the bottle shake.
He never got into the raz paci, or sophie, or any other teether for that matter! We tried a lot!cloth, chillable, etc.
Good luck!

I think our LO is in the early stages of teething. We got her the RazBaby teether/paci (which she's still unsure of) Orajel Naturals teething gel, and Gentle Naturals teething drops. We have a teether you put in the freezer but she doesn't love that, I think it's too cold.

What things did you use to survive the stages of teething?
