Keep up the pumping. How many days has the output dropped? I know when I would see a drop for a day or two, it would take almost a week, but then the supply would be back up.

If your LO is six weeks old it could be your supply regulating to better match your LO's needs. It's common for Mum's to have an oversupply for the first month or so while baby is learning to nurse and for the oversupply to reduce once nursing is established.

For me personally I eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning and I had good success with drinking lactation tea and eating lactation cookies whenever I needed to boost my supply. I also need to eat LOTS of calories to keep my supply up so make sure you're eating enough food.

It's pretty common for most moms to have to pump 2 or even 3 times to get enough for 1 feeding. It could be the oatmeal, so try adding that back in. Also, are you getting less rest, or are you more stressed out? Both can impact your supply. Try to drink more water too, and see if that helps. Good luck, mama! Yes it's worth it to feed your baby breastmilk as long as you're willing!

So the last few night I have noticed I am pumping significantly less than I normally do, and I am not sure why. Nothing has changed except I haven't been eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast- I wonder if that can change my supply that much? I get up at 2 am to pump as LO sttn (he is 6 weeks) and I wanted to keep my supply up at night. Normally I pump around 4-5 ounces that last couple nights I am barely getting 3 and I am pumping for much longer at least 30 minutes. Is my body just starting to not like the pump and not producing as much? My LO drinks this while I am at work 3x a week for a couple hours- takes me 2 days to get enough for him to drink while I am gone (travel time/ work time I am gone about 5 hours) he gets 2 bottles. Luckily my job ends after next week for the summer- but I am staring to wonder if it worth my getting up (also I have started a freezer stash)
