@mrsjyw: No AF yet! I'm definitely finding that a lot of people are saying this is the time supply drops, so I guess it's pretty par for the course. Which makes me SUPER impressed w/people who BF for several years for multiple children! WOW.

@emg86: That was going to be my next step, if the ped nixed the whole milk idea.

@DillonLion: @edelweiss: I have to ask at daycare about his milk intake. I have recently upped his purees that I'm sending, and also started sending a sippy cup with water. My one big complaint about our daycare is that they don't communicate the amount he eats, just whether or not he eats. And I can't judge by what I get back at the end of the day because they dump anything leftover. So I'll have to talk to them about it and see what they're thoughts are.

@littlebug: I think this is right around when my supply started dipping. is D taking in more solid? have you had AF? I know those were the two major contributing factors when I started to produce daily. At 11 months, I'm still making JUST enough for DS daily intake, but that's also because he only takes in 18 oz or so now TOTAL.

I take daily fenugreek tablets from GNC. and calc+mag around AF time and that's what's helped me keep up the supply.

i was also wondering whether you could up his food intake. our LO's are about the same age. in addition to the purees we've been sending to daycare, i've started sending in some soft finger foods (sweet potatoes and pears). oh i also increased his puree amounts by a little. i'm not sure if it's coincidence or not, but now he barely finishes his last bottle (has left about 4 oz leftover).

a few months ago i was having issues keeping up with his demand so i added a pumping session before i went to bed. it worked after a week or so, but another pumping session isn't exactly #1 on my list of exciting things to do.

Have you thought about taking supplements to see if they help? More Milk Plus capsules are pretty awesome.

Normal occurrence around that age! Is LO eatig a lot of solids? Do they still need as much BM at daycare or could you send less?

D is 9 months old and so far has been EBF. I have been pumping at work (3x/day) and have been able to keep up with his needs with no problem, often having extra to freeze. Within the past 2 weeks, though, I feel like my supply has plummeted. I am barely able to keep up with his needs, and have had to supplement from my frozen stash. I only have about 80oz left in my stash, after just donating 170oz to a mama in need, and if I continue to have to use 2-4oz a day, I will blow through that in no time. I eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast and drink a fair amount of water (though I could certainly work on increasing that) all day long. I really don't want to start using formula now (ENTIRELY because of the cost factor), so at our appointment tonight I am going to ask our pediatrician about supplementing with whole milk - there are no allergies in my family, though I do have very mild lactose intolerance (I can't drink milk but I can eat ice cream, yogurt, cheese, etc).

Any thoughts on what I could do to get my supply back up to snuff, or am I just facing the inevitable end of EBFing?
