I'm ok with my supply going down a bit, since I am working now. I do have a lot of breastmilk in the freezer and will continue to nurse LO first thing in the morning and at night if necessary. I just cant keep up with pumping at work and I am very strict with her milk and dont like the idea of travelling with the pump and then using it in not so clean places like my office or car and then transporting the milk around. I rather just pump when I am home. the last time I pumped outside I dumped the milk when I got home even though it was cold I just felt like it wasnt evenly cold. I did intentionally reduce how much I pumped at home for the last few weeks to prepare for work but I cant say that its helped. if I wait longer to pump I just get more milk per pumping session.

I wish breastmilk could come on demand.

oh yeah, I know that feeling. You cant go from nursing/pumping regularly to only doing it once cold turkey. Your body is still making milk as if it was being frequently drained. Your breasts are engorged, and that can get painful. If you do that for a few days in a row, yes your supply will decrease, but its painful. Truthfully, if you only want to pump once a day, Id do it in the middle of the day. But bear in mind that your body will think that the baby doesnt need any milk during the day except that one feeding, and your supply will regulate to that.

So I was always told that if I didnt pump very often my supply would go down, but I never pump at night even though my baby sleeps through the night and same days I only pump once but my supply hasnt regulated. My aim was to only breastfeed at night and then maybe pump once in the morning and once at night since I am back at work now. This is my first day and its been 8 hours since I pumped and my boobs are buzzing!!! But I didnt bring my pump to work
