This has happened to me too. But with continuing to pump and nurse like usual it has always returned to normal after a day or two.

@rahlyrah: I have seriously reoccurring plugged ducts, even with taking Lecithin supplements, and so far my supply has always gone back to normal after a day or so.

But regarding the pumping only once at work---that must suck. But I think you can trick your body into thinking its nighttime---i only pump once at night, and my supply is fine because I make sure to pump every 3-4 hours the rest of the day. So if you are at work 8 hours and pump once in the middle during your lunch break, but either feed your LO or pump every 3-4 hours the rest of the day and night, it should be fine.

Yep, this has happened to me. I was able to get my supply back up by drinking more water and taking More Milk Plus when it happened.

I usually pump about 3-5 oz per session, which has been plenty to keep up with LO's bottles when I am at work.

However, yesterday I had a clogged duct. I have had this problem a few times before and always had an issue with pumping output the day of the clog. After the clog is released I have always returned to my usual output.

I nursed LO quite a bit last night after work and I woke up this morning without any pain. I assume that means the clog is gone. For some reason, I am still only pumping 1.5-2oz a session though. It is really freaking me out because I am not going to have enough milk to send with LO tomorrow. We supplement with formula, so it's not that big of deal, but I prefer him to have breastmilk more often than not.

Has your supply ever taken a hit AFTER a plugged duct? The alternative is that my supply is drying up now that I am back to work. I am a teacher and can only pump once during the day. There is no way for me to add an extra pump session. I am so not ready to give up BFing and the thought of me drying up because of work is terrifying.

I apologize because I know I have been rambling. Those who know my story know how hard I fought to get to this point and I don't want to have to quit so soon!
