Sorry you are going through this but know you are not alone. I struggled pumping enough for DD so I've been taking More Milk Plus/drinking Mother's Milk tea since I went back to work this time but don't know if it is really doing anything. I pump just enough to cover bottles while I'm away but would love to stop taking the supplements but fear a supply dip if I do.

Hugs, I constantly worry about my supply. We're almost at 6 months and I'm still worrying. More milk plus has worked great in upping my supply. I make just enough for my LO to eat at daycare. My next goal is 9 months. I'm hoping to make it that far, but we'll see.

You are doing amazing things for your baby! Pumping is not for the faint of heart.

I had a major supply dive two weeks ago and what worked for me was drinking INSANE amounts of water (120oz a day), mothers milk tea 45 min before pumping, adding more calories to my diet and a few days of power pumping.

I do not have time to add any extra sessions but for a few days, for one hour I would sit on the couch with the pump attached - 10 minutes on/10 minutes off. I'd fold laundry, watch a show, meal plan...anyway, this week there is an improvement!

@Mrs. Jacks: thanks! I do plan to check it out when I have more than a few minutes.
@MsLipGloss: you are doing a great job as well! I set mini goals for myself as well and 6 months was a big goal!
@kiddosc: I have thought of adding taht morning session. But as it is I stay up till 10pm to pump that evening session and don't get to bed till almost 11pm. Then M is up at about 5am and there is just never enough time in the morning to pump again afterwards before leaving the house.
@Bao: thank you!

You are doing so great! Breastfeeding is hard work, just take it one day at a time.

I feel you on the breastmilk frustration. I pump *just* enough for E each day, and I need to pump 5x a day to do it. I've tried several supplements that either didn't work, or didn't work and gave E and I tummy troubles. It's a constant source of stress.

Being sick can really take a toll, keep at it and I bet your supply will rebound. Have you considered adding another pumping session in the morning? Either way, you've done great to get this far!

@RegberaDaisy: I'm so sorry doll! (((hugs))) I think you have done a (really really) fantastic job to have made it this far!

I know it sucks to struggle with something that others take for granted. I am right there with you, i.e., doing everything possible to maintain my supply (I am currently supplementing as well, and have since I went back to work at 12 weeks), and I struggle to pump 3 oz during a session (combined). I have even purposely stalled my already slow weight loss in an effort to make absolutely sure I was getting all the calories I needed. I feel so drained, and so defeated. (I worked so hard to be able to BF!) My LO is just 5 months. I am trying to make it to 6 months and then I will evaluate the toll pumping is taking on my life/emotional health.

You can check out my adoptive breastfeeding thread for some links that might help. We settled on being content with a small amount over our targeted period of time. You are doing great to have gotten this far!

Just throwing myself a little pity party.

In the past month M has been sick, I have been sick, she has started STTN all leading to less nursing sessions and lower supply. And oh my period came back! We've supplemented with formula since day 1 already as it is.

I pump 2x at work and a evening session before bed. Now 1 out of the 2 work sessions I'm lucky if I get 2oz. The before bed session has been taking me 40+ minutes to get my 4oz. And last night I barely got 1.5 ounces.

M is 9.5 months and I really want to make it to a year. My stupid body is just not cooperating.

Going to buy more milk plus and start drinking even more water. But it's just not fair that I'm trying so hard and barely getting enough as it is and now it's even less. Yet there are others who barely try and have so much of a over supply they can donate.

It's just really frustrating and I'm feeling down about it lately.
The best I can do is take it one day at a time, I guess. Every day I'm still providing her breast milk is a small victory to me.
