@Foodnerd81: I get the same size as I would in their dresses. Of I'm in between sizes, so it depends on the style a bit for me (both in dresses and suits).

I got a one piece from TJ Maxx last year. The brand is Nip/Tuck or NipTuck - some variation of those words. I’m also a 34D/DD (and was only 8 weeks PP when I bought it so probably even bigger though I don’t remember exactly). It was super flattering and lots of support.

Other bathing suits I’ve been happy with are Bleu by Rod Beattie. They def sell at Macy’s and a few other places but I got mine at macy’s

@Foodnerd81: prime wardrobe is great! No fee and no credit charge to deal with until you checkout (or miss the deadline to do so, but they send reminders). They even send it in a returnable package with a label already printed for return.

My only complaint is that not everything is on prime wardrobe - seems to show up more often for pricier brands.

I have gotten my most recent suits on amazon (so many cute swim dresses with decent support that are flattering to the midsection!) but have some lands end I also love. I’m sad that sears is going out so there’ll be no option to try on lands end in store that I know of.

ETA one style I have found flattering for big chest is straight straps in front that cross in back. Seems to give some of the halter effect with less pressure on the neck.

@DesertDreams88: how does prime wardrobe work? Do you have to pay a fee to use it? I usually just order several items that have free shipping and free returns, but even though I know I’m returning most of it, it stinks putting a $300 order in.

I just ordered 4 suits to try on in a couple styles and sizes to get an idea, including the Panache @hummusgirl: linked. I wish I could just try on a ton without spending a thousand dollars but I don’t even know good stores to try around here.

I have this tankini top from Lands End, and I really like the style of the back. It feels like I get the support of a halter, without the chafing on my neck. The slightly blousy style is annoying for actually swimming in, but it works great for playing with kiddo in the pool.

@Portboston: I was actually just in an Aerie store this weekend randomly the only suits they had were definitely better suited to slim, firm, college girls on spring break, vs a 38 year old mom of two who doesn’t exercise as much as she could and eats her kids leftovers. But possibly they have better options online, because i know a lot of people swear by their bras!

@lamariniere: I just got a catalog from them and didn’t see the bra size swimwear, but I’ll look online. My catalog even came with a coupon for your first order!

Look at Boden! They have a number of tankini options and they size by cup size. I recently bought two regular bikinis from them and the tops are super supportive, and the sizing was right on.

@Mrs. Pajamas: I’ve been avoiding bandeau styles because I felt like I’d always be tugging them up. Do you use a strap still? I didn’t realize amazon sold panache, I’ve heard of their bras being really good so I will need to try them (with free returns of course).

@Madison43: I just saw some tommy banana ones on Nordstrom. The tops didn’t look particularly supportive but maybe I’ll give them a try.

@Mommy Finger: yes that’s really similar to the one I’m looking at. Glad to know you like it.

@Foodnerd81: kind of pricey but i really like Tommy Bahama bathing suits. Pre-kids I liked their two pieces because the underwire tops came in actual cup sizes with decent coverage - post kids, I REALLY appreciate their one pieces and tankinis. The material is super thick and sort of holds everything in the right place, and they have bold colors and patterns that are great for camouflaging less than ideal areas.

Eta: I have this style, but not this pattern and it’s my favorite suit ever. I’m also a 36D and it holds everything up just fine.

I found that bandeau styles with underwire are supportive and alleviate that neck ache issue (I am so over that too!). I always thought my boobs were too big for bandeau but I found some styles via jcrew and amazon that are great--two piece and one piece. This two piece is also panache like @hummusgirl linked. it's by far my favorite two piece I have now. super supportive! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FGAWP74/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@hummusgirl: hmm- I got fitted for bras at Nordstrom. I wonder if they will do bathing suits too. I don't know my nearest lingerie store like that. I agree- I don't necessarily mind paying more for a bathing suit I really like. And since I breastfed two kids for a year and a half each, I'll think of it as the money I saved on formula. :silly:

I have this and it's SO supportive! https://www.panache-lingerie.com/us/shop/product/anya-bandeau-tankini?colour=041

Even though we have a foot of snow on the ground, I'm wishfully thinking of sun and swimming, which leads me to thinking about bathing suits. Plus we go swimming with the kids at our gym year round anyway.

What are your favorite brands and styles for supportive bathing suits/ tops? I have a bikini from Athleta that I like fine and wear with a rash guard over it, but I'm looking for a tankini or one piece that still lifts the girls. I'm about a 32 DD/ 34D. I tried on a few at Marshall's today just to see and I definitely need some more support. And I like the way halters look but they hurt my neck.

I may place a big order from Lands End, but it will be annoying to pay to return what I don't keep- especially if I keep nothing! The nearest Sears/ Lands End is about half an hour away.
