I can’t emphasize how heavy they are - I can only move one at once, and it isn’t easy - so they are not moved/dragged by the kids. I'm curious how they hold up. </p> <p>DH wanted to do rubber mulch under the entire playset but I think it is too much work, will complicate mowing (kids will throw it everywhere) and would be a pain to remove in the future. Our playset is in a soggy area of the yard, and the mats In high traffic really help keep shoes (and bums) clean. They’re not cheap (and are really heavy to move) but are worth it. You can google "astm fall height recommendations."</p> <p>We used rubber mulch this past week for our new playset. Interestingly, Home Depot's unit price was cheaper for the small bags vs. The medium bags. It was something like 60 bags for $6 each, tax and then a $75 delivery fee. There are a few different brands. Our area is mashed down muddy grass and I’m quickly realizing we need something under it. Did you put sand, wood mulch, rubber mulch, something I’m not thinking of? </p>
