@T.H.O.U.: Sunday isn't a bad idea since he wouldn't have to chabge his Saturday routine and @mediagirl: going to a local breakfast spot will help his bff become more acquainted with the new area. We have a solution! Thanks

I would feel like Saturday morning was too soon after getting in late on Friday. Especially if I already didn't like houseguests! What about Sunday, or the next weekend?

Mine wouldn't be very happy of me to spring something on him the night before. Especially if it meant people in our house. I am leaning towards no. It's something I would LOVE to do for him and something I would love to have done for me but it's not something my husband would enjoy....it sounds like your husband may not enjoy it either (other than the food part). Can you go out to eat and meet everyone there and that way, they're not house guests?

What about maybe a brunch on Sunday? That way he has time to relax and then entertain?

I'm torn because you said he'd say no. I didn't throw my husband a 30th bday party because he was so against it!

DH has a huge make or break (not really break, but its a big deal) test next week. He already passed the objective portion a few weeks ago and I think the subjective portion will go just as well. I want to celebrate the achievement.

He gets back from his business trip (on site testing in another state) late Friday. So I was thinking of inviting his bff and his family over for brunch the following Saturday. If I ask DH beforehand he will say no. Do you think it's a good idea? Also, I would tell him the night of to make sure he knew he couldn't run off to the gym the next morning for hours.

DH isn't a fan of house guests, but carbs (baked French toast) put him in a good mood. The bff just recently moved to our area and this will be a nice gesture IMO.
