@Smurfette: if it makes you feel any better, he was up 4 hours later screaming his head off. He never does that. Poor guy.

My LO never really tolerated being swaddled, and he slept so much better when we didn't even try! (We did put him in a sleep sack, though.)

@Smurfette: jealous bc you want her to not be swaddled, or just bc you want her to sleep?

I am jealous! R isn't ready yet. We tried a bigger Swaddle me blanket last night and she was up way too many times. Day care is even swaddling her to try and get her to nap.

@birdofafeather: finding the hands is key, I think! I am sort of worried about not having the swaddle to say HEY, nighttime sleep! I'm hoping the dark and the white noise will be enough.

I thought it would be hard to wean but once she found her hand, it's been easy! We still wrap her in a sleep sack with the swaddle around her but I think it's more a trigger than anything else.

Yay! K was about 11 weeks too when she started fighting the swaddle. We've been swaddle-weaned about 2 weeks or more now! I'm so glad I don't have to worry about swaddling to wake her up!

Nice! We went through the same with DD (15 weeks). She kept fighting the swaddle so hard that she would end up breaking out of it anyway. We started with one arm out and now do both out, but keep her bottom half swaddled. I tried to switch to a sleep sack and that was a disaster, so I'm going to keep the arms free/bottom half swaddle for now.

A has been swaddled pretty much every night since birth (he's 10 weeks). He has successfully rolled over from his tummy to his back several times with intention, although not the other way around. I figured we are still safe with the swaddle since he goes down on his back.

He's also been recently able to be put down drowsy but awake (hooray!)

Tonight, I swaddled him, rocked him a bit, then put him down. I know he was sleepy, but he was just fighting it. I decided to try something new - I took his swaddle off, and BAM. Asleep. Not sure if it will last, but I was shocked.

Babies ... always keeping you guessing!
