@lovelife: That was our go-to swaddle method until 6 months! It's pretty awesome.

No reason you couldn't try. It does take a while for them to get used to it and calm down in the swaddle so if it doesn't work right away maybe keep trying.

Doesn't hurt to try it. My LO used to hate when we put her in the swaddle, but once she was in there she always slept better (until she reached 2 1/2 months). So if he fights it at first I'd still try to keep him in it and see how he does.

it could work. Try it and see how he does. And if hes breaking out of the traditional swaddle, try this method. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOnsKlluHIg

we used that when Liv started breaking out. She CAN get out of that, but it usually takes hours., so we started overlaying it with the woombie.

Regardless, give it a try, he might find it soothing.

Can you start swaddling a 3.5 month old? We stopped when he was about 5-6 weeks because he hated it. He would grunt and kick for 30-45 minutes when we would put it on and after a few nights of finding him busted out of it wearing it around his neck like a cape, we stopped. He sleeps amazing at night but naps are another story. It takes ages to get him into the nap because he flails and kicks and then he always wakes up after 30-40 minutes which I assume is his one sleep cycle. He's exhausted all day long. I wonder if swaddling him for naps would help keep him from waking himself up but would it even work this late in the game?
