Grrr...i just had to ignore them. When i told my mom that i recently stopped swaddling LO she said, "oh yeah, because it was so restrictive?""umm no! MIL "knows it all" so I made sure to randomly bring up the interesting, new and recommended practices of infant care they have now. I might have inserted the reasoning behind it as well. I think the older generation just needs to be schooled a little bit before warming up to "new" ideas.</p> <p>She never said anything, thank goodness. They all shut up pretty quick when they saw her melt down, then immediately calm down when I swaddled her. When they saw that he was swaddled, they made all sorts of comments about how horrible it was, that we were restricting his movement, etc. Has anybody dealt with this issue with the older generations? Or other people? </p>
