So, I used it a few times on long solo car rides when I couldn't sit back there with her to try to keep her calm. Unless the car seat manufacturer made it for their specific seat the product has not gone through car seat crash testing. Not safe!! Nothing should go between baby &amp; the actual seat unless the car seat manufacturer specifies that the product is made for their seat (ie. infant insert, seat manufacturers head cushion insert, etc). It can cause fit issues that can affect the seats performance in an accident. I was wondering what the slit in the back was for and discovered it is to put the buckle of a carseat or swing through. Basically you lay the blanket down, then buckle baby into seat, then wrap the Velcro parts. </p> <p>Have you done this? Is it actually safe? Would definitely make it impossible to take the baby out of the seat without waking her. </p>
