We bought a Swaddle Strap from Anna & Eve. http://annaevellc.mybigcommerce.com/index.php

We got this because our LO breaks out of every swaddle, so we use this and then the Aden & Anais blanket around her waist and legs. @Mrs. Stroller: that swaddle looks awesome! I am going to try it tonight!

In the heat I've folded a small receiving blanket into a skinny long strip (like folding it lengthwise only two or three times) and laid it under her, put her arms down to her sides and then tucked the blanket over her arms and then under her body. It helped so her arms didn't wake her up and she slept just as well and could be uncovered.

Google "the double swaddle" and find the youtube video. It's a swaddle that you can do with a linen blanket. It leaves their legs out. This spring when it was super hot and baby S was still swaddled I would do it with just a diaper on. It's nearly break-out proof too :)

Thank you ladies.

We actually have been looking for an AC!

I guess I will just swaddle with a light blanket :-).

LO wears a onesie and is swaddled in a Miracle Blanket, which isn't very thick. Maybe our house just stays fairly cool, but it has been at least 10 degrees hotter here than in SD and she's been fine.

We ended up swaddle weaning, in part because of the heat made it impossible to keep him in a swaddle at night! Luckily, it only took him a few nights to get the hang of sleeping without a swaddle.

Can you buy a small window air conditioner just for her room? We got one at Costco a couple summers ago for like $100; it's just enough to keep DD's room cool, and we're thinking about getting another for DS's room, since it works so well.

We live in San Diego and this past week has been a hot one for us (85 degrees during the day high 70's at night)
My daughter is 4 months old and I wasnt quite ready to stop swaddling her but I was scared that she would overhear at night... so these past few days she has been sleeping in just a diaper.. It isn't working very well :-( she is waking up a lot.. the other night she woke up at 3am and just did not go back to sleep. I know she is hot AND Im sure needs her swaddle. Any tips for swaddling in the heat? Last night I gave in and swaddled her at 3am - she ended up staying in it until 3am.. However I had the fan close to her crib. I am not sure that is the best idea. I don't want her to get sick either!
