My son has been a sweaty sleeper his whole life (he's 5 now). He sweats easily in general (like me).

If this is new, I would follow up with your doctor.

My son is a sweaty sleeper and soaks his pillow and wakes up with wet hair and a wet shirt everyday. Even with no blankets on etc. But he has always been a sweaty sleeper from day 1 (he's almost 3 years old now).

DD is a hot sleeper (as is DH). We call her "Miss Sweaty Betty" because she always wakes up with wet hair and damp sheets. In the summer I just put her to nap with a diaper and a sheet (maybe some light PJs for bedtime but not always). She has a blanket on her bed she can grab if she gets chilly. I also make sure she has a drink after she gets up.

I do the same thing at times and finally realized it doesn't happen if I use a breathable natural fiber blanket (like a cotton quilt). If I use a polyester-filled blanket, I don't even have to be hot to sweat like crazy. Unfortunately, my LO has chosen a polyester minky blanket as her lovey, and she also sweats holding it.

My son, 26 months, does the same thing. I think he just tends to be a hot kid and sweats a lot. And it's all day long, not just while sleeping. My Dad is the same way, so I don't find it to be too unusual and haven't been worried about it.
He also drinks a ton of water during the day.

DS and DH are both warm sleepers.

Sometimes DS gets pretty sweaty, especially ehen it is warm out. We just try to keep him in light pj's and he doesn't usually wear a blanket to sleep.

@MOMTOLITTLEB: I sleep like this as an adult. I'm not sure for a toddler but my sons both sweat a lot. I always assume some people just rub warmer than others? Seriously though, how sounds so sweet and adorable.

My LO does this sometimes. Like to the point where I thought she threw up or something. She seems otherwise fine. I wake up sweaty from naps too so I figure it's normal.

My son is 2.5 and he sweats excessively when he naps and sleeps at night. He sweats quite a bit when he plays outside too but it's warm and he plays rough so that makes more sense. We try to keep his room fairly cool, we use central air and he has a ceiling fan. He does sleep with his dream blanket on him, he insists.

He went to bed a little over an hour ago and just called me very calmly a few times, when I went him he said "I wet, my pillow wet." Sure enough he was soaked and his pillow was soaked. I changed him and the pillow and he was happy the whole time, happily got back in bed. I don't suspect he is sick but this has been going on for a few weeks- with the warm weather. But is this unusual? It seems like a ton of sweat. Should I be worried or call the doctor?
