I got 2 (posted on it earlier today too!).....first one was at 38&4 days and it did help me to dilate to a 2 and my mucus plug came out that day!
Got my 2nd one a few hours ago (im 39&4)...have felt pressure and cramping since...so maybe it is helping me dilate more? Or maybe it could throw me into labor....I don't know but I know it doesn't hurt and it can help majorly with dilation!
It is uncomfortable---i squirm and close my eyes but it's not like..."OWW!!"

My clinic refused to do it. I'm glad they didn't (in retrospect).

I had it done twice. The first time it really really hurt. I was dialated about 1 cm and it didnt work. The second time I went into labour the next day. They were a week apart. Im not sure if it was the sweep that did it or if it was me weeding my garden that sent me into labour. I say try it. Even if it doesnt work it doesnt really harm anything. It is uncomfortable for about an hour and does cause some bleeding but it might get you started! Depends on how desperate you are!

I am having my 39 week appointment tomorrow and am thinking about having my membranes swept (the OB offered it last week, but I declined). Anyone have experience with this? Did it put you into labor? How quickly? Did it hurt? Would you do it again? Thanks for reading!
