@looch: well, I can't speak for every splash pad but after a vicious stomach bug out break in our area, that was traced to our splash pad In a few cases, a UV filter was installed (im afraid I can't give better info, this was 8 years ago and my memory is fuzzy). The swim diapers being mandatory made a big difference. Also, if there was a "code brown" the pad was shut down and treated with some extra stuff (again, can't recall).

Yup. She gets completely soaked (me too!). The tricky part is getting her re-dressed in a diaper before walking home. I've kiiiind of perfect doing a quick swim-diaper off/real diaper on while laying her back in the stroller with the shade open, to shield her naked bits a little.....but it's a little awkward.

But no way am I chancing her peeing/pooping in the stroller while we walk home.

@lawbee11: The ones that we've been to require them. They have big signs up all around that state babies must have a swim diaper and to not change diapers within 6' of the splash pad.

I do. Also, I used to work for Parks and Rec and we required it on our splash pads. Most splash pads have recycled water. If one sick child has a leaky diaper it's passed along to all those other kids really quick.

We actually do because she gets SOAKED. I'll pick her up and swing her over the water spouts and she also will sit on them.....it may as well be a pool for my kid.

Sometimes we make a quick stop and we don't bother if she has cloth on. She just sits on a towel going home. Disposables blow UP, though

Do you put your LO in a swim diaper at a splash pad? Since they're not fully submerged in water I'm not sure if one is necessary or not. LO wasn't walking last summer so we haven't done splash pads yet, but are planning to go to one in a couple of weeks.
