We waited for that stuff until LO had a set nap schedule. I don't like to wake her up and I don't want to pay for something that we're going to skip all the time.

We don't have consistent naps and just scheduled lessons at 3. He usually falls asleep in the car on the way there or back.

I think you may find that if you schedule something consistently, a consistent nap schedule may emerge.

We used to do drop in swim lessons with DD. Do you know if your pool offers drop in lessons? It was really nice since it was one-on-olnr lessons and we could go whenever we had a free morning.

We are on a pretty strict schedule around here so I always choose lessons after nap time. I have found that on a day when she does not nap well, it is a disaster because she is too tired to enjoy it and just gets cranky.

I would think picking one early in the morning would be your best bet because then either way they would not be too too worn out from the day.

We've been doing swim lessons since my little guy was 2 months old, and we just aim for him to nap for at least a little while before swim time. We aren't big schedule people, so we just go with whatever is happening each day and adjust.

We started with swim lessons around noon, so I made sure we were up extra early on those days so he would crash out around 10ish. Now we have swim lessons at 5, so if he wants to sleep in and have a later nap on those days it works really well. Most importantly we have found that if he is well fed before class he does great, regardless of how he has napped that day.

We're doing swim lessons too (except he clings to me the whole time!). My guy does generally nap at 9 & 1, but lessons are @ 9. So he napped abut 30 minutes before and then again for an hour after we got home. He took his pm nap like normal.

It may be that he's not as into the lesson/outgoing as he or ally is because he's a little sleepy, but what can you do?

I would just try and work around it. If the class is say at 11am, try and get her to take a nap before that but if she doesn't go anyway. If she is still napping when you need to go, wake her up. If she loves the water then even if she doesn't nap she should be in a good mood, hopefully :)

hmm, no idea where to put this one.

I'd love to get O into swim lessons. She is 8 months, and we took her swimming last week in a pool for the first time. She LOVED it - loved it, loved it - and already kicks her feet frog style when we tilt her onto her belly in the water.

However, she really doesn't have a set nap schedule - as in, does not nap every day at 11 and 3, but does take two 1-1.5 hour naps a day at some point.

How do you deal with this with any type of lesson, class, etc? Wake them up / keep them up and hope for the best? Skip and reschedule?
